It is actually insanely popular One of the most popular sports it's just not well publicised However FIH is working on publicising it and in 2019 they're making a new league which is planning on having over 100 games within 6 months to boost publicity and make it possible to live off of more easily for players :)

Firstly it's called an "Umpire". Anyway, Hamish made the right decision, the player obviously intended to kick the ball, he was annoyed that the player had tackled him, his body language showed this. Also he was aware of his wrong doing as he quickly jogged back to try and feign being unaware of kicking the ball away.

Hockey never seems to get much of an attendance.This is international competition and these players probably play proffessionaly for their clubs in india or holland which do attract a larger attendance in these countries.This match is played in england where hockey is a minority sport.

This is indeed hockey. More specifically, hockey done on a rink with pucks is ice hockey, and this is field hockey. Internationally, it is more commonly referred to as hockey, as we call ice hockey "hockey" in America.
