Super late comment, but I was rereading his Transformers Wiki entry and it turns out this "gun/pistol mode" actually showed up in one of the old TF comic books, complete with good old-fashioned mass shifting.

But however and in the G1 cartoon Galvatron build himself a gun that's based on the toys gone and that's an accessory he has in the toy but if finally came in the TV show and Galvatron built the gun when Galvatron needed therapy in that episode.

Found him complete last week at a store for £10. Did not know how hard it is to get him complete but I got him and he displays nicely. And even though his battery plug is missing, how can you go wrong with and unbroken, complete with cannon Galvatron for £10?

I’m betting $100 that no one cares for Galvatron due to as Optimus prime said “Galvatron cared about nothing else but destruction, his victories never last and no one cares for him.” I’ll also bet another $100 that fans that loved decepticons cared about Megatron, soundwave, laserbeak, and the seekers over Galvatron, scourge and Cyclonus.

I like to think that astrotrain is a tardis :P But yeah my galvatron has a lose gun....it wont stay still which sucks but im not sure if its the gun or the hands tbh. Cant complane as i got him in really good condition all sounds work just some tiny sticker wear on his chest for £10/$16 last year :P

I'm a fan of galvatron but not of this toy. So they made these galvatron and rodimus toys for the movie yet the toys look even less like the cartoon than the season 1 guys that were diaclones

That's because the toys were made first. After, Floro Dery designed character models for them, wich were altered for the cartoon.
