Gambit Evolution in Movies & Cartoons (1992-2024) - X-Men '97

Gambit, the card-slinging X-Man, has a surprisingly sparse on-screen history. His iconic debut was in X-Men: The Animated Series, followed by cameos in other Marvel shows. Later appearances in X-Men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men saw him take a villainous turn.
Gambit's only live-action role was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (played by Taylor Kitsch). Fans still dream of what could have been with Channing Tatum. Will we ever see more of Gambit on the big screen, or was his heroic sacrifice in X-Men '97 his final farewell?

Gambit was my favorite from the cartoon, he truly deserves more recognition. Fun fact: It was said that had Wolverine and The X-Men got a second season, Gambit would have eventually became a member of the X-Men.

Gambit didn't really have a relationship with Rogue in X-Men: Evolution. When he kidnapped her they bonded because they were both from the Deep South, and they flirted a little. Gambit seemed to hesitate, though, cause in that series Rogue was a teenager in high school and Gambit was a young twenty-something. They did kiss once, though, when Rogue was mind-controlled. It is important to note that statutory rape was, unfortunately, not taken as seriously as it should have been during the 1990s-2000s when X-Men: Evolution originally aired. That's because there wasn't as much known about the mental health impacts of statutory -- this was back when people thought DID (multiple personalities) was a myth because it had been added and removed from the DSM.
