Always opt for C. A) You spend it, they are within their legal rights to come after you & for large sums, they most likely would. B) You inform them in advance of the error. If you are lucky, they might allocate a small amount of additional free play, suite upgrade, or something smallish to say thanks. C) You immediately log out without using anything. Do absolutely nothing for a good while, then re-check the balance again to see what's what. If it's gone, then no harm done. You did not exploit the situation & can claim you didn't know it was there. If it's still there, then you wait & wait. After a few months, you can then go for it. Stay under the radar, play 2/3x per week & spread it out over a few months.

Free play and comps are actually regulated by most gaming commissions, casinos can get in trouble for not following them as recently seen in Pennsylvania. Although I would spend some of it, I would be careful to not use an excessive amount over what I would normally expect. And since casinos can award free points as part of a giveaway / raffle you just never know what to expect.

This happened to a guy sitting next to me at old Bally's. He hit three top symbols on a 3 reel and he thought he won 1MM What the machine said was one million 'reward" credits not dollars. Then when he tried to cash out it said "ERROR Call Attendant" he did--they said-machine malfunction-the top jackpot is 250K Reward credits not 1MM to which he could cash in 3:1 so the 250 became about a 75,000 win. A lot less than the "million" he thought lol

I would deal with it the same way I would deal with a deposit that was mistakenly put in my checking account. I know that it's a mistake, so I would report it. The smart move is to steer clear of the extra free play. It is almost certainly. a crime to knowingly take freeplay that you knew was an error. I've had extra free play that I could not account for, but it was a relatively small amount and may just have been some promotion I never got in the mail. But here, a million is not something you did not see in your mailbox.

I will than try and get as much of it in voucher as I can so even if I get banned as long as they don't find the voucher where I hid. I can probably get someone to get it for me. Do you risk getting kicked out of your favorite casino? Do you go crazy and max bet? Each person has a different answer. My only thought is "How do I want to sleep at night?" I would not have used the free play. I just wouldn't feel good about winning any money from it. One time, I had 250 of free play show up on my players card. I didn't know why, so I reported it to the players' club, and it ended up I won a drawing. Maybe that's what happened in this situation. It's just me wanting to be as honest as I can.
