Maturity over impatience. Fascinating game. Ding maneuvered his way out of danger brilliantly. The power of the pawn was a great lesson in this game. You covered it with precision.

Excellent comment, Andrea. Yes, I agree with you. Jerry is calm, methodical, precise and is a master teacher. It has been a real pleasure over the years to listen to his magnificent commentary on the best chess games ever played in the history of the world. Cheers from Mexico City!

Really nice defense from Ding. He somehow managed to get back in form for the match, and it's great to watch him playing like himself again. I'm excited to see the final game!

1080p seems to have some distracting visual artifacts from video compression that aren't present in the other resolution options. That aside, wonderful analysis as always. Very much appreciate your coverage of the games. :)

Excellent commentary especially liked the queenside pawn play ideas & tactical pointers that were there in every phase of this game. I used to play the French defense & this game reminds me of why I gave it up! Just defending all the way thru. Very tough but Ding did it. Gukesh must be kicking himself for missing his win. On other hand Ding is now just one classical game away from getting to the fast play tie breaks! Should be exciting! Cheers!

If G. had found the only moves when he was pressing as well as D. has found the only defensive moves when he was under pressure and if he had have thoughtn it over for one minute or two , he would have won. I don`t see G. as the next world champion. Youth contra experience. THX Jerry - brilliant!

great video! but no mention of that black queen could go c1+ earlier
@michelnormandin8068Ай бұрын
I watched the live stream. A first for me and total different experience. The rapid confident combo Bf4/Bc7/Bd6 reminded me of many OTB tournament games I played decades ago. The point being to ''bully/stress/surprise/destabilze'' your oponent. 31... Rf8 saves the day with 10 seconds on the clock. Tabarnak!!! The accidental world champion gets more respect.

I didn’t know it was best to just chill in a K/P endgame when you’re the side with two pawns. Good to know! Not that I ever get to that because I’m so addicted to the Danish Gambit. 😄

I missed something. The way the game was described it appears that Ding could have simply captured the bishop on f4 before they went into “bullet mode”.

RxB is a blunder. Spot the one move tactic 👍
@bertdaniel144929 күн бұрын
Hi Jerry, this is Bert. I enjoyed your commentary on the recent world championship immensely but with regard to my comment (responded to by “RxB is a blunder” I guess I missed something else. Could you elucidate on the one move blunder? I probably set the position up incorrectly. Experts like Ding and Gukesh do not miss one move minor piece captures for free. If there was a minor piece capture available and it was a blunder I still think it deserved a mention in the comments.

@kh3777Ай бұрын
Full of twists and turns from both sides at the end, but Ding must be happy with a draw after spending so much time and Gukesh a little disappointed?
@teadrinker7098Ай бұрын
Once again Ding burned a lot of time in the early part of the game.
@scheimongАй бұрын
That's how he rolls. You can't think yourself out of a bad position, so you'd better think before that happens.

Thanks for the instructive comments about how to hold a R+2P vs R+3P endgame. Also I watched commentators during the opening and wondered why they never covered an early c4 by Black as a viable alternative. You did cover it and explained its virtues. So maybe my idea of playing c4 and securing b3 wasn't so bad after all.

Can't watch anymore. These 10 to 20 move tangents that you go off on after every other move in the game just causes my eyes to glaze over. At that point we lose all track of what's actually going on in the game. Thanks though.

WV~ There are plenty of chess websites that have the game without any commentary, and you simply press the arrow and the pieces will move. As you continue to press the arrow, you will see the entire game. Quick, easy and NO FUN. The reason why this chess KZbin channel is the best, is because Jerry's style is unique. You never see Jerry. He has no ego and doesn't boast and brag and scream, "Hey! I'm Jerry! I'm so cool." Instead, he is smooth, precise, and makes all the games fascinating, intriguing- and he does go off on tangents- to show and teach people the various possible ways the game could have gone. Also, my favorite thing Jerry does is gives us a moment to pause the video and think what the next important move will be. What that does, it allows the viewers to test their chess skills- and to learn why these great chess players made those moves. Each viewer probably has his favorite chess player, and for me, it is Bobby Fischer. Some of Bobby's games were so incredible, complex, beautiful, and mathematically elegant, there were positions even the commentators at the time were completely dazzled by his creative genius. So, WV, we are all different. We have our favorites, our heroes, our preferences. If you feel Jerry's commentary isn't the style to your liking, it's okay. Just simply go to another chess website that suits you. All the best, Greg- Mexico City
