Michael, thank you so much for this series. It has been invaluable to me as I begin my Game Audio career. Thanks for keeping me company these past few months with your wit, charm, deep knowledge and expertise. I hope many more stumble upon these lessons. Hands down the best tutorials out there on Wwise/Unity.

Hey, Michael! I do music production and SFX for video games, and just wanted to say how thankful I am for this series! I've been having issues creating demo reels from the projects I've worked on because the music/sfx weren't implemented correctly so this was a big deal to find! That, and I'm seeing more and more studios asking for the audio guys to do the implementation. I need to find some tutorials for Unreal (most of the projects are in it), but I plan to go back and try and redo all the sounds in the Wwise sample games they have and use what you taught to implement my sounds! Thank you so much for this

Thank you so much for this series! I followed all the eight parts here :) What I found most interesting was that you demonstrated creative ways to use Wwise with simple scripting! I do create my own creative works using Unity, so your demo taught me how to start things with those AK components and my own scripts. I will continue following up your other videos too!

I’d like to see that, too. Lol. I recently had a chat with some people from Audiokinetic and they gave me some pointers. So there is a chance that I will do an Unreal version.

Hello! Thanks for all of your lessons, you did a pretty much job for a newbies!!! Now I’m trying to figure out how to make a footsteps sound using the 3D Person controller, and, by any chance, could you make a video about that? 🙏 Thank your very much for all your effort and best regards!

I’m scheduled to teach that class again this year. I might redo the entire series, but it will take a bit.

@@michaelgwagner actually all of the series are brilliantly accurate for people who just started into the sound engines and game engines. There is no analogues for those series, Sir. The one thing that is missing in my opinion is how to manipulate with 3D Person controllers, how to attach the colliders to the foot, how to make it all work together and play sounds. I'm grateful for your answer and hope that the new series will come soon :)

Yes, when I recorded this series, Unity had just switched out their first person controller. This is be one of the topics in my videos that would benefit from an update.

Hi, first thank you so much for your videos ! :) It really helped to get wwise and Unity fast (even if i had already some basic knowledge, but no practicing though). Maybe it would be great to have tutorials like: how to mix a game for different outputs in wwise (mostly for Tv speakers, and Headphones) or some tips in basic scripting for audio programmers. :') Thank again for all your teaching !

That is a good one. I have actually been asked about this by a number of people. It is somewhat more complex though. I will definitely put that on my list but it might take a bit.

Thank you for this series so much! The only thing, I do not understand about triggers in Wwise, is why didn't you use that trigger in Unity and created Wwise event instead? If I drag and drop the trigger from AKWwise Picker as a component to Topfloor object without adding the event, it still works. So, as far as I am concerned, the point is to replace the event with the trigger?
@michaelgwagner8 ай бұрын
It’s just a different way if doing it.

I'm trying to implement a Stinger in a Unity scene I created, (Unity 2022.1.17f1, Wwise 2022.1.0) and it doesn't seem to be working. The Trigger works fine in Wwise when playing the Event from the Soundcaster, and the Collision trigger in Unity works fine with normal Wwise 'Play' Events, so I'm having a difficult time figuring out the issue. (The Event and audio seem to be in Soundbank as well.) Edit: Nvm; I guess the music component needs to be on the triggering object. It worked after I put the music on the player.
@michaelgwagner2 жыл бұрын
Great to hear that you got it to work. These types of issues are generally next to impossible to resolve through a youtube chat.

Michael, I have a question. Could you recommend a way to learn scripting in Unity? You showed it in some of the lessons, and I was only able to copy things you've written, but not understand. How can I learn the basics and the main structures? I would be very thankful for any tip)!
@michaelgwagner Жыл бұрын
Unity now has a visual scripting language. If you are uncomfortable writing actual code you might want to try that. There should be tutorials on the Unity site.

Hi Micheal and thank you very much for this series which were very helpful. I see you're switching between Wwise and Unity in the same machine. How to do this when the sound designer and the dev are working on 2 different machines ? Thank you so much !
@michaelgwagner2 жыл бұрын
If you are working with Wwise you always have to have Unity on there as well. However, if you work with additional developers, they would not need Wwise on their machines. You would just have to use a version control system such as Perforce to synchronize accross all development machines.

Michael~~Thank you for all the way down here~Just one question about the "Use Other Object" selection, What's the meaning of it ? And when Should I tick it up?Thanks from Shanghai!!
@michaelgwagner2 жыл бұрын
If you want the event to be posted on the object that enters the trigger instead of the object that contains the trigger, you need to set the “use other object” flag.

Hello Michael, thanks again for this great series. I'm just completing it now and everything has worked perfectly until the Jumping Cube. (Unity 2021.3.11f1 / Wwise 2022.1.0) It's almost working - I can see the cube on start, falling through everything and into oblivion. This is the console error: "Type of instance in array does not match expected type UnityEngine.InputSystem.PlayerInput:OnDisable () (at Library/PackageCache/com.unity.inputsystem@1.4.2/InputSystem/Plugins/PlayerInput/PlayerInput.cs:1734)"

That’s unfortunately very difficult to debug from a distance through a chat. Did you check if the Wwise and Unity versions have been tested to work together?
