The situation around Mick Gordon hurts so much since he's one of my favorite composers in the industry, and created two of my favorite soundtracks ever, so reading his statement and the hell he had to go through was so heartbreaking, though I still find it insane that despite everything he went through he still managed to make one of the best game soundtracks ever. I was always on his side even after the initial post on Reddit Marty made. While I'm happy Mick finally gets to tell his side of the story, it sucks so much that this whole mess even happened considering how incredible of an artist Mick is, since I really want to hear more soundtracks from him in the future. I'm definitely not gonna be purchasing any game that has Marty Stratton's name attached to it in any way that's for sure

I’m happy that Mick was finally able to put out his side of the story. Marty Stratton should be ashamed of his behavior and that Reddit post needs to come down. It’s tragic, because the damage to Mick’s reputation has already been done and he still has yet to be properly compensated for his work. I hope he is able to recover from this. Mick has a level of talent that’s rare to see in this industry.

Biggest snub in the game of the year awards... Vampire Survivors. It got relegated to the Debut Indie game category, not even making the top Indie award or game of the year nomination. It was extremely popular, addictive, cheap, easy to play hard to put down and it spawned 100 game clones that it became its own genre of game the same year it was released.

I'm not sure I agree. I'm not sure I disagree. Elden Ring is my game of the year (I haven't played many other games). I had to watch so many lore videos and theories on KZbin to try and help me understand what was going on and who was related to who.

@@PaxRufrax it's not about understanding, it's about collecting enough information to come to a conclusion yourself, it makes learning the narrative a game of itself that can extend your playtime 10 fold and make you want to do multiple playthroughs and leave you with thoughts and questions about the world long after you've played through the game, the best thing lore videos can do is regurgitate item descriptions and lines from NPCs, any other interpretations would be subjective to whoever makes said video

As much as I love Kratos, The voice acting for Amicia completely carried Requiem for me. The character has to constantly do the unthinkable, and she delivers the 'young girl in pure panic and terror-induced stress' lines to match perfectly. This was in the first month of release...AND, it was an example of creative (and dishonest) spin...that, by the way, people managed to misinterpret...as was the intent. In fact, even now some articles and sites are quoting that figure from months ago AND presenting it as fact, verbatim. However, game installs and active player numbers are NOT the same thing at all. Which they obviously knew and why they went with that twisting of the truth. When they made that statement the massive thing they omitted to say was how many immediately uninstalled it minutes or a short time later. According to stats from MMOStats and Videogamestats....current estimates puts the game at around 5-6 million users across ALL platforms and ALL regions (including China).

One more thing about the Doom situation, and potentially the reason it took so long for Mick Gordon to respond: The lengthy rewrites Id requested due to Eternal's poor planning led to them using *MORE THAN TWICE* the amount of music they'd contracted him for. He basically scored the entire game (from guesswork because they asked him to score levels they hadn't even finished yet), got told "this sucks, redo it", scored the whole game again, only for them to put that music in the game *on top of* all the rewritten stuff. He was contracted to produce a certain amount of minutes and they wound up using double that. I'd wager there's a big lawsuit in the wings from Mick.

Played the demo for Ship of Fools back at Steam Next Fest. It does seem supremely promising. Think Sea of Thieves crossed with Overcooked, along with the roguelike map of FTL.

Another great episode, I hope to eventually see Shatterline appear in the Put This On Your Radar segment. It’s a pretty good FPS multiplayer shooter with co-op PvE expeditions as well. They’re still in early access and they’re based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Conroy was, simply, the best. Being from Argentina, I basically got to know him with the Arkham games, since the Batman Animated Series was dubbed over here, and I was blown away. Now, Austin included some footage from Arkham Origins, where Batman is voiced by Roger Craig Smith instead of Conroy.

Hot take, I’m bitter that Midnight Fight Express is getting shafted like this. Absolutely amazing game made by a single guy. Shit, the OST was fire and so was the gameplay combined with a batshit insane story. Deserves a nod at least :(

Man, that really game really flies low, doesn't it. - I mean, I knew about it as one of the earliest and keep forgetting about it until I see someone mention it, like now. - I think it just had so little exposure, as well as what is basically stealing spotlight with competition from the likes of SIFU that it just went unnoticed to many people. - Sad but true. - I feel like the game or its creator will get their time, though.

They were so afraid of killing kratos that they even made the prophecy of him dying to be false which is lazy writing. They even have the raccoon from guardians of the Galaxy lmao.
