Way back when these things first came out I reviewed one. It was okay but nothing amazing. Now we have the all new updated version for 2019 with 2 player support. Is it any better than the original? Let's watch on.

First of all always joy to watch your video Retro Core. I see you have the cheap / slim edition casing this new version. Beginning you say what changed if you looked at the last video you made. Uuuuuh.. a lot it's one shit storm of pandora's box / key clones try here to figure out what is the best. Box 9, did video about all the real 3A / 3H Game versions. Still searching for the best box because they are all flawed in some way.

These boxes are great, I have a PB6 with Sanwa buttons and an old 19” LCD which gives it a great retro feel. Fun to try new games each time.

Very cool bit of kit!!! The tearing etc really wouldn't bother me, I've always been a console player so dong even know what a lot of those terms mean haha!!! I would love an old school arcade type set up like this and I know my kids would be all over it too (the gaming bug has bitten them hard and i rarely get a look in on my own console nowadays haha!) I'm surprised that they still don't sell these in a retail box or at least have a slip cover around the plain cardboard box it ships in. Also that you need to use a USB A - USB A lead if you want to plug it in to another device as a controller, normally a big no no! Overall it does seem to perform better but I feel that they still have some way to go yet, especially because you'd think the people that would buy one of these would be relatively meticulous when it comes to game performance.

Take into account that these machines are mostly illegal (the ROMs included aren't licensed) so I supose they try to be low profile, a big colorfull box advertising hundreds of pirated games will be asking for trouble ;)

I've been looking at Pandora Boxes but there's just too much too choose from. I'm looking for one where you can upgrade and use the controller on the PS4, ps3 and Xbox. I have never seen this model or box before, thanks for the upload! I have an old i7 8 core pc that I wish I could turn into an emulation machine that uses an operating system like these boxes. My dream is to build a full arcade unit, I used to play on machines that had many roms at my local arcade (which closed 20 years ago or so lol) and always told myself I will own one someday. I recall the the arcade used a pandora machine because I was trying to suss it out, the quality of the games were very good and I'm no curious what board it was using.

@@RetroCore I just got one question for you? Is Turtles in time neon nightriders stage playable? It seems like all of these boxes I've played can't get that stage right. And I played at least 4 different ones, and the stage is visible, but the turtles and everything else is not. If you didn't play through the game, can you please play it and lets us know? If that game works then I'll buy one.

The possible opportunity for customisation on this kit excites me, sticks, buttons, speaker even the system it operates on could probably be gutted and replaced with attractmode or bigbox. Although maybe even sanwa/seimitsu gear is made in china these days, but I could be wrong.

I have some real Sanwa parts at home. I can confirm that they are Japanese made. Or at least the box states they are.

@@RetroCore It makes sense that they keep manufacturing in Japan, the QC in China could be all over the place, but I have noticed that there are sanwa/seimitsu parts floating around that are made in China. Not entirely sure if they are fakes or possibly meant to indicate sanwa/seimitsu-esqe generics.

You mentioned emulation issues for Night Slashers. I just tried it on a newer version of Mame (0.211) and it seems to still have those issues.

There is a small store in my local mall that sells these. I'm not sure which version of PB is installed but the case has SFV as the cover art. The stickson that one are cheap crap that don't actually register all 8 directions of movement

Ralf Van Bogaert Its not a Pi, per se, but they’ve been out, for several years. You can get them for $125, and so it’s not a bad deal, at all, especially to use as a set of console sticks, for fighting games, on top of the 1000+ games they all come with. Much closer to an arcade feel, for MAME, too, as set up. Ever been in an arcade? No idea WTF this dude means, by saying it’s one year old...

I did. Sadly it made no difference. Screen tearing was happening with it on and off. I wonder if it would do the same thing via VGA?

games you should have tested: all of the Mortal Kombats and the PGM games (although you tried Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou), those were the titles that ran poorly on previous versions of the PB.

Super pixelated LCD doesn't look like the bloomy pixels you got on CRTs back in the day. Smoothing the images looks closer to how it used to.

So this is not an official Pandora box. It does not have the internal case on the motherboard. The screen tearing is gone with optimization on, but I dont like it compared to the original style.

It's a modded Pandora Box 5 just with more Roms added. The better way is to buy a Pandora Box 6 from 3a games because you can add mame fba and ps1 games there. its in all aspects the better product.

I saw another device years ago also called the Game box, and it was an emulation box that could play arcade, GBA, and other games, came with a trailer for Avatar on it, and had a cartridge slot for GBA games. Nightslashers is the censored version. Thank god, they released the uncut version on switch. too bad it has also applied a stupid buttugly screen filter by default (like all Johnny Turbo arcade releases) which can't be switched off.

In Marvel vs Street Fighter , you do hadoken circle with three punch buttons to do super move. Not hadoken circle x 2 + punch. Just make any special move + three punch/kick buttons to do any other super moves.

I know how to do the special moves but the button layout was messed up so I couldn't find all 3 punches or kicks. After I reconfigured the buttons it was a breeze to play.

Not with this machine. All my other Retro consoles on this TV look amazing via the Framemeister.

The thing with them Pandora sticks is .... I would gutt it and throw it all in the bin Inc the Pandora board .Wonder if they just sell the case have enough things that can emulate better than a Pbox

A few people in the past have asked about just buying the stick but I've never actually seen the stick onky for sale.
