Game Boy Advance - Wood Grain Replacement Shell - Fixing Ebay Junk

The nice folks over at eXtremeRate have sent me one of their Wood Grain GBA Replacement Shell kits to review. In this video I'll show you how to install it, and give my overall impressions.

Thank you for the in-depth video! Got my own shell replaced -- though I went for a clear indigo, with black bumpers & blue buttons. It was my first handheld disassembly, it wasn't perfect [had a lot of issues with the screen & adhesive lol] but I didn't break anything & I'm super pleased.

Excellent video. As always, I appreciate your critical eye and detailed walk through. I just picked one of these up about a week ago. I used a different set of buttons and side plastics on mine. Besides the fit of the battery cover, I really like it. It feels nice to hold/play..

This wood shell looks great. I saw one with white buttons. That looked better as with the grey ones I'd say. Maybe black buttons look nice too but over all I love wood so I love the look of this shell.

I ordered a shell not to long ago with buttons that dont really line up with the shell itself. I prefer the original ones and just reused them like u said. Much better! Also, Wood Shell

Wood Shell ! It looks really great. It would really be better if they painted the battery cover on the inside as well but that is not a dealbreaker for me. Maybe you said it but is the display plastic or glass?

Ty for the review sir any pre cut for the new v2 ips LCD screen you'd reccomend? I've been loving the clear case w the super nes color button and holographic glass screen i think it looks slick. I was hesitant about the wood grain case bc I thought it might have been cheaply made and felt like plastic

I recently got a GBA from a friend and redid the shell (orange shell black buttons) with a super famicom glass screen protector. The shell is precut since i wanted the ips screen which was a bit of a hassle to install but well worth it. Must be pretty durable to i accidentally dropped the poor thing trying to carry it out with stuff to my car it fell about 5 feet onto a concrete patio but its totally fine after reinserting the ejected batteries lol. wood shell

I’ve recently took up trying to repair different consoles because of your videos, my first was an old psp I found in my garage, turned out great but I tore the white plastic clip that connects the screen to the board.
