Hey Adam. I've never soldered to a tinkerboy before. Any tips or is it a matter that as long as the wire and hole/spot meet with solder, it should work?

Do you mean like the one in video? Is pretty easy, if you made it yourself you should know where it is, if somebody else did it for you or you bought it already made just unscrew all the screws and you will be able open it very easy, from that moment you can use my tutorial. Hope that helps!

Great video. Very informative. Is the USB port on the right side of the Gameboy functional? If so, how was it wired? Also, where can I find the files for the 3D printed part for the switch? Thanks.
@Adamstech6 жыл бұрын
The USB ended up not functional, but is pretty easy, any micro USB OTG hub works, just make sure that you got the power and ground soldered to the power boost and the Data cables soldered to the USB hub, Wermy got a good tutorial on that part, you might want to check it out!
@Adamstech6 жыл бұрын
For the 3D files have a look on sudomod.com or get these market.sudomod.com/3d-printed-gbz-parts-full-set/
@sguttmann16 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Found them. I tried using the USB OTG from the Pi Zero to the USB port, but ran into issues of the Pi not recognizing the Tinkerboy controller. I did not try wiring the power and ground to the Power Boost. It may be possible that the Pi Zero can only recognize only one USB input and that is being taken up by the Pro Micro.
@Adamstech6 жыл бұрын
Got the same issue xD, found that it matters a lot the hub that you got, This one I saw that it works,shop.pimoroni.com/products/three-port-usb-hub-with-ethernet-and-microb-connector?variant=22477883847&gclid=CjwKCAjwq57cBRBYEiwAdpx0vX8Y8z8Cw83UmfDXW6EXR3hQMGvOhpHpqGPf5QjCNbTBopTbpuaXshoCYtIQAvD_BwE I will do another video on this project a bit more in detail :D

If you'd like to review the original build guides or have any questions you can visit www.sudomod.com. There's a dedicated gameboy zero forum where you can get ideas and ask questions related to your build. Also, you want to choose to support the creator of those 3d printed parts directly instead of someone who downloaded the files and is selling them. You can purchase the original 3d parts from the creator here: market.sudomod.com/3d-printed-gbz-parts-full-set/

You're talking quite fast and skimming past a lot of small details. Slow down a little.
@Adamstech6 жыл бұрын
Audience retention play's a great part in making of these videos In the future I might upload full lenght tutorials. I assumed that some basic stuff I didn't had to show but apparently I was wrong.
@xThuby6 жыл бұрын
Well if you want to skip over basics or not show a lot of simple details you need to know what audience you're targeting. If you want to target a more advanced audience I suggest changing the format of your videos to a more lenient and more "documentary" style. The format you're using now is usually used for videos which have a strong focus on tutorialising.
@Adamstech6 жыл бұрын
I get your point of view but I disagree, an advanced audience will know the basic steps of polarity and soldering, and for the "documentary" style I am currently working on a project of that type, thanks for the feedback I appreciate it!
