Hi Alexander, the wires I will recommend are the ones you find inside a USB wire, I believe they are 24 AWG, you surely have some lying around so just strip the outer shell and get your free cables 😂

Hey Adam. Do you use a DS Lite GBA cart socket or just glue the cart on the Gameboy zero to keep it in place? Also, do the controls take much setting up? Having tested it with an Xbox 360 controller, some emulators need random button presses to work, while some don't at all. Thanks

I just glue it in place in some cases, as I need the maximum of space, you will see in my last build what I am talking about, as for the controls, on the first boot you will be asked to map the buttons, is a matter of just pressing them and that is it!

Amazing, I just started this build today.....I did not get the display adapter, but maybe I should have. Only thing is I planed on having the HDMI port on the side instead of the microSD and using a PRS cartridge board. I ordered a safe shut down as well.

Adam Builds - I just realized I had seen your first GBZ build a couple weeks ago. I will use the PRS card if it comes before the DPI board comes. It’s kind of a gimmick as you have no reason to remove the mircoSD. Especially since I got the Pi Zero W.

For power rail please go with 22 AWG wires for the maximum amperage, for the rest usb cables from any type works great

You can use 22 awg wire in all but it will make it harder for you to close the case as they are thicker, works with electrical tape also !👌

@@Andzorulez The DPI adapter has 2 pins on the back that connects to D- and D+ on the back of the pi, you just need to fill the 2 holes with solder :D

i heard the most common problems with the tinkerboy is the buttons and how they become unclickable or something, its all over the blogs. how did u fix that? did u use new buttons and pads? cuz those are expensive and i like to reuse mine ( cuz its free)

Hi, I saw the posts, is a very easy fix, take some 1500 grit sandpaper, and carefully sand the pins, some of the boards had a protective coat all over it, using that sandpaper will fix that easily :D

The dpi adapter doesn't work with v1.1 as that one needs pretty much all the gpio's for the buttons, with the Dpi adapter you will have just 4 gpio pins open to configure It doesn't make sense to buy the adapter, just go with the AV pin and is cheaper!

Ofc you can do it, I am currently working on 1 right now, if you use the dpi adaptor you need to solder an extra wire for the pi to be able to take 5v

For the caps, I got them with the actual button from TinkerBoy's website, he got a bunch of colours to choose from, and for the GPIO pins I think you can find them from any website as long as they are 40 male pins, pimoroni.com got them in stock

You can go lower ofc, there are pcb's as low as 5 quid or they include it in a kit with your case, you can lower the price as much as you lower the specs

I know they are out of stock for the last couple of months, another option is Helder battery, Galaxy Gaming sells it but make sure you are ready for a long wait and no messages from the seller, the battery Is rock solid tho!
