I'll play the devil's advocate here, and say that the minimalist design of the Switch spines make them easier to browse and organize. While they don't show any artwork to draw me in, if I'm trying to organize them alphabetically it is much easier when all the titles are in the same location on the spine, with no additional graphics or differing fonts.

With the Switch spines, you can't recognise the game by the logo. You have to skim through all the names. Then miss the game you were looking for & continue searching.

Modern Xbox spines are hilarious to me because of how slightly different they tend to be. Never different enough to be distinct, just different enough to be noticeable and a little bit annoying. But at least they're in different fonts, Nintendo Switch is not so lucky.

Switch is my least favorite current console but my favorite spines. If I was queen of the world, spines would be white background, black left-aligned text always in the same font.No colored backgrounds, no logos, NO NONSENSE OR FUN. I want order and consistancy and readability. (I'm also the person who loves collecting Japanese Mega Drive games specifically because of their colorful and wildly different packaging and spines.)
