@@krockpotbroccoli65 Thought more about Hiram Maxim, the guy inventing the Maxim Machine Gun. Those things were built different, when the Brits decided to get a morenkodern system, they tortured one of their Maxim based Vickers Machine Guns and just blast rounds through it until they ran out of ammo, spare barrels or the gun just died. Well, they blasted through all 5 million rounds they had within 7 days, firing the regular 250 round belt size and changed the barrels every hour or so. The gun was just fine and looked like it could another 5 million rounds without breaking a sweat.

Hey Jörg, nice Bolts... Steambow recently launched new Carbon Bolts as well (For example the new steambow bodkin weights 15g), they are also pretty good and no longer bend, furthermore they aren't too expensive...the tips on your saxon warbolts look impressive, cant wait to get my hands on them for testing. Nice to see others finally coming up with these type of bolts, i have been making and selling these for around 2 years, they are very popular. I use the Anglo Arms bolts are my main base and hardened steel tips like those you used Joerg, the anglo arms bolts are extremely durable in my opinion, personally i prefer the aluminium shafts (not the ones you showed) from experience the ones i use last a lot longer than the aluminum shafts you showed or the carbon ones like adder bolts that can break on the first shot sometimes. My aluminium / abs vanes broadhead bolts will go through coconuts and thin steel plates too and with out any bending (also i think it becuase the anglo arms ones are thicker walled that the ones shown here.

Where most people look at gear like bolts and arrows as a disposable price in hunting, Joerg sees the opportunity to correct a problem and update a product!. Personally living in the US with many options I have never really been interested in these types of small bows but Joerg makes them look so damn cool and fun I have to try them out. Very interested if anyone has first hand experience in hunting with the pistol crossbow and what they hunted and how it went.

Rabbits, turkey, pheasants are pretty much a good target audience for the pistol crossbows. I mainly mess around with it just for fun target practice because throwing a ball at a wall gets boring after a while haha.

Small bows are easily disguised to the point that they ca be thought of concealable. And under a winter coat, they are. And a very effective quiet close-quarters weapon for those times when tactics require that you don't loudly advertise your position the first time you defend yourself or deliver a hit. Just sayin'.

We needed something like this. It's like a long bodkin. Weapon collector out of England makes 280 gr. Broadhead bolts that are thicker than these. But they can't fit the mag feed pistol bows. This is a very relevant innovation for magazine feed crossbow pistols.

What a great upgrade Joerg 👍I have been building arrows for close to 15 years now, and Carbon is by far the more superior material to use for higher poundage pistol crossbows. The same goes for the type of tips used for whatever the bolts are used for. Practice or hunting, the weight of the bolt should remain the same weight, so that the weapon can perform at its most optimum efficiency. Glad to see you working on really quality stuff for your already popular bows Sir. Keep up the great content, and wishing you continued success 😇🙏🏹🏹👍

Infectious enthuziasm as always! I was surprized to see alu bend so easily, I probably shouldn't have been. I wonder if a stiff wood dowel epoxied to fill the hollow in the aluminium tube would be worth it for those on a budget with a good few aluminium shaften quarrels? If you're shooting even a modest distance to the mat/target having a full quiver makes a big difference.

When I switched from recurve to a compound bow with cams, I had to replace all my cedar shafts with aluminum because they were exploding mid air from the power increase. I have the cobra system, and other than a small manufacturer defect, the thing rocks. It’s light, and breaks down enough to be packed. I do think the bow strings could be made from steel cable, for longevity.

I live in Alaska, and in our home, we hunt for much of our meat. This will allow a much more instant and humane option for harvest. We use sling weapons for small game much of the time. I have never been comfortable with just an impact weapon, such as a slingshot. (No matter how expertly used) Most if not all of these animals are within 10 meters as they rely on camouflage and freezing in place, to throw off predators with less than great olfactory centers. The combination of differences in available firepower and properly designed (and reusable\durable broadhead bolts) completely change the playing field. To harvest an animal and not alert\terrify the rest of their group with air rifle or firearm report, makes it easy to continue the husbandry of the land while not chasing off the population of game. Truly, and above all; I wish to say I appreciate your continued testing and research. If you'd be so inclined, I would also appreciate you telling me which; in your opinion is the most reliable and well-built repeater bow. I honestly mean properly built. It's going to take quite a beating in my hands. I will be honest in the review of its performance in the field. Though our winters are severe, our care of tools is taken more seriously than I can say. So, it will be properly cared for even on the worst of days. Pick a fully constructed model and I will put it (the model you choose) through every situation we encounter; in all weather during this winter and repeatedly throughout the next year or two. If you wish, I will include harvest photos, and narration of the way for each. If picatinny rails are a part of construction of the model chosen, video will be forthcoming.
