I have had mine for a few weeks, and I love it. The previous commenter has some good points. There are some accessories that are probably a must with this unit. The air assist, some kind of enclosure(while I am a woodworker I bought the fire proof enclosure from extool) and the honeycomb which would prevent some of that char and burn through you had on your ornaments. I have no idea how anyone could run this machine without an enclosure even with one the smoke is horindus. I pipe mine out a nearby window and I'm still getting some blow back. So why buy this over a self enclosed unit? Because I'm a garage woodworker, with a full time not a laser buisness. You can hang this thing in the wall and or stick it under a bench. The enclosure folds up and out of the way... You are up and running in less then an hour. This is why this laser is indeed a game changer.

We make laser graver content, similar to this video. We heard a lot about X-tool. We have two laser engravers that we enjoy using. We make designs and images to engrave or cut using them. They are very basic engravers but we can have fun with them and be creative. It increases our creativity knowing the pros and cons of our laser engravers.

Nice to see a new video from you. On a side question, I have some Osage orange logs and my bandsaw is too small and can't cut it into any good material without a lot of waste. I was wondering if you or someone you know could help me? I want to make some project that I have in mind with the wood. Thanks for your time - stay safe

I can probably help you out. How big is the material and what're you trying to break it down to? caleb@ycmt2.com

Yeah, don't get this... They're not safe. Do not use a laser cutter/engraver without air assist which not only helps clear debris as mentioned but also prevents a lot of ignition from happening, nobody wants an unintentional fire in their shop. Don't use it without an enclosure, yes it has a little shield on it but it's simply not enough of a protection. Enclosures with a cutoff switch when opened are the way to go. Also don't use this without fume extraction, this one is just obvious. You're burning stuff a lot of which can release harmful fumes and particulates. Once you actually get all of these set up you probably could have bought a ready made CO2 laser with an enclosure, air assist and fume extraction for the price so look at going that route instead. Another important thing to mention is that these machines generally showcase several materials being used for example leather but leather can be very harmful to cut and engrave, some leathers are fine and a lot of other ones are not so make sure to get some material knowledge and do your research before laser cutting and engraving a material so you don't end up ruining your machine or giving yourself and anybody around exposure to toxic fumes and particulates. Not to mention get your materials from a reputable source since some companies sell leathers labeled as one thing but they're actually another, if you're not sure then don't do it.
