Hi, if I make a container out of Epoxy, could I store Isopropanol alcohol in it? Would the epoxy leach into the alcohol? Thanks

Great video, if you look at wood grain running from left to right ,so you place the nail widest width while following the grain, if you place the widest part of the nail going across the grain its more lightly to go off and stick out the side, Its like shooting the nail across the grain it gets push away from the sections of grain causing it to come out the sides, going across the grain like ripping on a circular saw its harder on the blade because the wood fibers are stronger that way and the nail finds it tougher to follow straight, So` another way to look at the grain in the wood , turn the nail gun so the widest part of the nail follows the grain for a straighter drive,

Just removed the tack strips off the wood floors only to find 3" gaps between the base board and floor every few ft. around the whole room. Would it be more economical to add a border strip around the baseboards (which will be painted) and would it have a nice aesthetic flow or would filling the gaps be a better option?

You are absolutely correct about the "hidden cost" of tangling with a spinning SawStop blade. $100 for the cartridge, $80 for a new blade, and $20 for a new pair of shorts! And worth every penny to not lose a digit or two or maybe even a hand. Really good video! Thanks.

Subbed. This was like the Mr Rogers tutorial of the woodworking world and I am here for it. I have a huge project I want to undertake but have never built anything outside of IKEA furniture before. This makes me feel a bit more confident about starting *somewhere* even if not exactly where I need to get to, but at least I have an idea of how to practice and your videos seem like they'll be awesome help on the way.

Really wished there was a better way to introduce the supply line thru the wall. Like a junction box that has quick conect option. I've been temporarily running my air and power lines in through old broken cat entry door but really need to replace that door and button up for winter. I like the compressor outside for safety and noise. Just haven't found a clean solution for running air line through the back of my house ( garage wall )

Hmmm... looks to me like the engineers over at Jet racked their brains to come up with anything but a cyclone. Also looks to me like it doesn't work nearly as well as the Super Dust Deputy.

I have a 1.5 hp General dust collector with a Super Dust Deputy. I have used this set up for about 2 years. There is not even enough dust to cover the bottom of the dust bag on the General. I just empty the Dust Deputy can periodically. Great set up for a smaal shop. Great video. Thanks.

Hi. Very well presented. I have a situation. I followed your instructions for squaring at 90 degrees and I came up with this problem. I put my piece against the fence and made the cut and then I put my square against the piece and I got perfect angle. But as I turned the piece to the opposite side and then check the square , I noticed a big gap. I appreciate if you instruct me as what I should do. Thanks

Hopefully five years out you still see my question. Your tail vice is extremely tall and I’m putting a tail vice on my bench and it is also going to be 5 inches tall. Since the clamping force is at the bottom of the tail vice do you have issue with tilting When you put smaller objects that clamp into the top of the tail vice? Also what tail vice hardware is that?
@johnmunoz8845Ай бұрын
Not sure why you didn't use saw dust? If you're sending chips to your dust collector then you need to use 6 inches all the way. I think it's not a good comparison to use the Jet verses a dust deputy when you are not using regular saw dust too.

Thanks for the video. I'm fishing for your opinion: I'm working with hickory, 1 x 12 x 14'. These boards are very white in color. I've edge glued 2, 1 x 6 x 14' boards to get my 12". After running them through my planner I have tear out in several places. When finished these will be coated with a clear, water based product. I'm considering thinning titebond wood glue with water and mixing it with sawdust then applying the mixture to the tear out using a random orbital sander to work it into the tear out. I tried dark sawdust with titebond on a different piece of hickory last week and it dried much darker than the dark hickory. I'll go experiment, but curious about your thoughts on this technique. Thanks again.

I want to build a multiple shelf rack out of 2” end grain hard maple counter top with 2” legs, 1/4 deep notched out to the thickness of the shelf it will all be Zinsser primed and satin black hvlp painted with hybrid advance Benjamin Moore paint. I’m looking for a flawless (ideally screw less) look. My thoughts are gluing the contact OR screwing it. All of the weight will be held by the notches so I’m not super concerned about strength per se but it will hold a few hundred pounds of stuff and want it as rock solid as possible. Would glue suffice you think or should I screw.. and IF I screw what’s your opinion on filling it before painting? Saw dust /glue mix? Maybe a snug dowel and then bondo for any micro cracks? Again this is all for the finest finish and quality. No stains, just primers and satin paint. Thanks everyone!
