Put a lightbulb in there, running from a wind turbine or solar panel to increase heat and speed up the process. The one I'm building is for mostly a damp UK environment. It will have a wooden frame. Insulation panels with a raised slatted platform with a couple of lightbulbs under the platform. The heat will thus rise to dry the wood.

I am a 60 something gal working on our new home build. Love your channel. I will be sanding and staining all the house trim. Under "your Tools" I couldn't get the link to open. I'd like to get a good sander. Can you send me the link? Thank you for serving our country.🇺🇸

I'm doing a horseshoe bar approximately 30 feet long on both sides. My pour thickness will be between 1/4"-3/8". Should I use the table top epoxy for that? Thanks!!!

out of pure curiosity, I've noticed in all my years working with finishers, carpenters, and everything in between, as a fabricator i always hear wood guys call super glue "CA" glue. is this just the norm? I know why it's CA glue of course. it isn't wrong. it just always seemed like extra work saying it bc no one calls super glue that haha. i mean evn starbond has an entire tutorial learning segment describing how they are the same. it's even more of a brand asociated with industry than something like NOs or Kleenex. I work with epoxy and carbon fiber so it would be the same as if at work I called at epoxy resin "epoxy". which, again, i get why you call it CA to denote Cyanoacrylate but at that point, i'd be expecting more of the technical if you're trying to signoal the glue. as a catch all they do the job but in my line of work once you get to the premium material, chemical mixes with Cyanoacrylate as the dominant additive significantly deviate in performance beyond the hobby level. everytime i hear CA glue i'm expecting the other info. idk long rant sorry haha no one has ever told me why they don't call it super glue which is what it is at this cheap level. i'm genuinely curious

Hmm, so if I pocket-holed 3 pieces of 2"x12"x24" to make a stand (2 wide legs and a top, no skirt, I realize it wont be stable, this is just to see if i understand the theory) then I wouldn't need any kind of compensation because all 3 pieces would expand and contract along the same dimensions? But if I used the same top mentioned above, but 2x4s for the legs and skirt, then I would need to use something like the figure 8 or Z clip to compensate? Am I getting that right?

Potentially.. if you’re looking at only a max distance of 12-20” between fasteners and in a climate controlled environment.. movement is negligible. But you’re on the right track of think you only need to worry about wood movement when you have perpendicular grain directions. Same species and same direction means similar movement.

It better to send dust out of shop not a cartridge. Exhaust out of shop like professional shops. While you can put filter. You maximize CFM sending fine dust out of shop. My 2HP pulls 3500 CFM at my tools because I don’t have a bag or filter in shop. I exhaust 6” out of shop to backyard. Get 6” pipe and a dust collector

Absolutely, if you can. I’ve yet to have a shop where that was a viable option though.

It will be interesting to see if the sticky side of the tape works well for repelling epoxy, esepcially when dealing with multiple elements that need to be covered in different colors of epoxy, such as creating glass for architectural models with irregular shapes. So far, the process has been meticulous for me, and I haven't found a viable solution. I've tried two types of tape but eventually gave up. Now, I resort to CNC cutting or hand-cutting all the elements, sanding them to size, painting, and gluing. My current project is on hold because it involves 1,240 windows. thanks for makig the video and reading long comment

A. None of the other machinery in my shop will be so polite as to attempt to avoid cutting me. B. Buying a new $90 cartridge and $80 - $150 blade is plenty painful. I use my SawStop as I would any table saw. The safety is a nice perc but never to be relied upon. I've had my PCS for 15years now and still love it. Great table saw even if it didn't have the safety feature but I sure like knowing it's there.

Better to extract to outside and just get a cyclonic separation and exhaust to exterior. Increase CFM and dust is removed from area. The 99.999% of the fine material is removed from confined area. Mine blows into backyard flower beds.

It appeared that the clog occurred where the input flow had been forced to go around a bend, and the bend reduced the forward velocity of the chips.

I've been watching a lot of turning the past few days. What puzzles me is why I never seem to see tape measures used and rarely calipers, yet everything always just turns out to be the right diameter and length. When I just eyeball something, things don't go well.

what many do not realize is if your dust container is inside your work space, microscopic sized dust will escape from the canister. this dust is very harmful, possibly causing COPD. the container should be outside the work space so that fine dust will blow away from you.
