The fact that the song is called 'Kamura's Song of Purification' makes it even better. After a long and stressful hunt you are back in your home, with the people who appreciate you (And if I may compare it), after a day full of negative emotions you return to that safe place, where you are a hero, a savior , the pride of an entire village. Without a doubt, purify yourself of everything bad that you could bring on the way to the village.

One of the best things I loved about monster hunter was returning home from school where everybody gave me crap for no reason and playing these games. It was such a nice break to role play an environment where everybody is just happy that you're there and proud of your accomplishments. It was a mental break from mundane grind to being heroic and at home all at the same time.

I just LOVE how mh incorporates their story elements into the ost so naturally that it feels like the setting and the music were made for each other. In Kamura's song of purification the "theme" or "feeling" that I get at least would be something like "villagers hard at work" or "a community that won't back down against the rampage". It is cheerful enough that it isn't dreadful, but it also inspires this sense of there being stuff to do, a threat to deal with. It's like it's shouting "let's fight back with all we've got!". Astera's theme for example, "cornerstone of the new world" also does this in it's own way. The casual happy melody with the inspiring, almost melancholic bits give a very strong vibe. It is a cheerful group of hunters and researchers ready to thrive in this new uncharted land, fearless against the challenges ahead. Seliana's theme has this "warm refuge of the frozen frontier" vibe, like the place to return to to have a nice warm meal from the grandmowster after a cold expedition into the unknown. The Soratorium from MHGenU has this inspiring, almost heroic but still diligent orchestra that perfectly fits with the mission that you are supporting the Wyventurer with. There are as many examples of this as there are tracks in the entire franchise, I just really love this game and its music. Know what I love too? Sharing the music of the games I love with each other. Your channel is amazing, thank for everything you do and keep it up!

I think the andante tempo I mentioned in the video definitely helps to convey that sense of there being stuff to do that you mentioned. The walking pace has a drive and motion to it, a sense of forward motion. And you know what? Now that you mentioned that Astera feels similar, I realized that the Astera theme uses the same andante tempo as the Kamura theme. Cool. Thank you for the insightful comment!

Awesome catch with the main theme melody! That is so neat, I'm glad I know now If I remember correctly Generations and GU both had their own main theme melodies without a dedicated theme song as well. In GU you can hear it in the Soaratorium, Ruined Pinnacle, and Ahtal-Ka mech phase. For Gen, I think it's in the Hub and Nakarkos Phase 2...? I'd have to listen again

@@weaponofmassfun9296 Late response, but there is also a bit more to it than just "French" pronunciation, it's a completely different language, a made up one known as "Wyverian". You have this option to use this language in other titles like Monster Hunter World and its utter gibberish compared to Japanese and English. Studied a bit of Japanese and a lot of these words are nonsense by comparison. They never went into detail how they did this but here are some curious details. They released a Japanese variation of this theme, the main menu, and the Gathering hub and you can quickly hear they use made up words for the other. The Wyverian language is a weird mishmash of Japanese and Western languages. The Wyverian languages are different depending on culture even. You have words that are vaguely Japanese and then words that are nothing like it. "Ladosa": Friend "Emikte mira": Nice to meet you. It's been a curious journey to see the community decode this "wyverian" speech.

Pentatonic scales are used all over the world. Of course Japanese music does use pentatonic scales a fair lot but so do other cultures so I don't think calling them "Japanese" notes is very accurate or responsible. It's like calling every song with a latin groove Brazilian. There's already the stereotype that pentatonic = Asian. Of course it's not completely untrue but I don't feel comfortable imagining people watching this video and then saying "Oh it's those *Japanese notes*!" every time they hear any pentatonic scale. There are certain scales that are very characteristically Japanese (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_musical_scales) but pentatonic scales as a whole are far from being uniquely Japanese. I know you're simplifying for the video but since you're framing this in an educational context, I'd like to ask you to be careful not to oversimplify. This kind of stuff is what leads to people producing offensively stereotypical "Asian" music that sounds like this kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaici2yQiKp7h7M
