I love Rippers, and I would easily describe it as 'Victorian horror meets X-COM'. The Lodge system to me is the greatest part of the setting

I wonder which came first, Hunter: The Vigil or the original Ripper game. Because Rippertech is straight up right out of one of the conspiracies from Hunter: The Vigil.

+D. Hunter Phillips It's Rippers. Hunter came way later.

+D. Hunter Phillips Original Rippers was released in 2005; HtV was January 2008, if I recall. I'm actually thinking of running Hunter the Vigil as a follow-up to my current Rippers Resurrected game, and tying that conspiracy in as being the successors of the Ripper organisation.

You should take a look at the radiance rpg, you can get the pdf free on drive trhu rpg and the system is quite simple but allows for a lot of diversity.

You may be the last teacher I know (well, sort of know in a distant kind of way) that uses chalk and a chalk board. Teachers these days use markers and dry erase boards. It's all the rage in teacherdom...for, you know, the last 20 years.
