What's fun on a Grumps rewatch is to note the point in the game where the tutorial appears that would have prevented Arin's meme-worthy frustration later on if he had remembered that it happened. Here it's 3:38 where the game tells him how to block, he does it, and then *immediately* forgets for the rest of the playthrough unless he's prompted by a button prompt

Sonic is a weird series for me. I've never been the biggest Sonic fan. I was always more of a Mario guy growing up. But... Give me a 3D sonic game, and I'm all over it. It could be shit like this, or even Sonic 06, or it could be decent like Generations. Even middle ground like Forces. I love it. There's something about a 3D Sonic game that I will always enjoy, even if it's a garbage game. And I have no idea why. I'm not even that into Sonic games. I've only beaten Sonic 1 and Mania. I have no idea why I legit have fun with any 3D Sonic, even if it's bad.

@@sortofsomething Maybe. But I feel like you have to enjoy the classic Sonic games to really say you're into Sonic games. And I'm not. I don't dislike those 2D Sonic games. I just don't enjoy them as much either. I think I figured out my deal. I enjoy Sonic, in general. But I hate how in the side-scrolling games, they make you go fast, but they put so many obstacles in your way that you have a hard time keeping you speed unless you play enough to memorize levels, or make massive lucky jumps over the top of everything. Meanwhile the 3D games avoid that, because, well, it's 3D. You can see in front of you well enough to avoid things or whatever. I realized this after trying to play through Generations again. I'm enjoying it, but I also noticed that I'm enjoying the faster paced 3D levels, as opposed to the side-scrolling classic stages. And even the bad 3D sonic games manage to avoid the unavoidable obstacles problem.
