He then IMMEDIATELY runs into Sonic, who 1) knows who he is, 2) was there for the events of SA2 and 3) is willing to explain it to him. Low key I fucking loved this game because it was trying SO hard to be edgy and it just came off as funny. Like sometimes when you die shadow is like "Damn, not here!" SEGA was like, "OH YEA! SHADOW SWEARS! SONIC DOESNT SWEAR! AND THE GAME HAS A 'TEEN' RATING SO YOU KNOW ITS BADASS." Honestly though I think this game is definitely a cult classic. It's like bad in a good way, kinda like the original Sharknado.

yeah I don't very much appreciate the characterization of Shadow in this game. His character worked better in SA2 and he should have stayed dead. In fact I lowkey think the best parts of 06' are of Shadow, because (for the most part) they got his character right. If 06' was meant to be a reboot, then it would have made sense THEN to bring shadow back to the series. EDIT: Im 99.999% certain this game had an E10+ rating. (Although it WAS going to have a Teen Rating.)

WonderGamer101 I'm a noob with gun so I assumed it was a shot gun >.> The vehicles are kinda random but it's shadow so I guess he was being a show off, he kinda does flaunt his abilities the whole game and riding a motorbike like that is well...cool looking. The aliens and humans is probably a representation of the solo route. Sonic is obvious, a load of aliens are destroying the town and nobody else is exactly going to stop them...the rest are probably backup. Not sure what you mean with the flying thing.

Well, they've already got literally hundreds of possibilities to choose from like Omega, Gamma, any of the Egg Pawns, the rest of the E-Series, Zero, Phi, GEMRL, Metal Sonic, the Badniks, Shade and the Metal Androids from the multiplayer in this very game, Chaos Zero from Adventure, the list is potentially endless, especially with more games coming out making new enemies every so often.

Goddamn, I remember when this game was first announced and there were commercials for it all the time. The sad part is, the concept itself was actually kind of neat. But in reality, this game was nothing more than a cash grab, taking advantage of the new "emo" and "scene" kids at the time. Just a stupid tactic to manipulate that sort of crowd into buying it with the promise that the creators "understand" them. If they had taken this game even remotely serious, they would have actually built up the story more, not been afraid to explore some of the darker subplots, and would have made Shadow a more relatable character. But it pussies out on all of that, so much so, that the game wasn't even good enough to get a T rating. It got a E10+. Not even the supposed "cursing" in the game is serious enough to get it a T rating.

As a kid who never played much Sonic I remember thinking this game looked really cool from what little I knew of it, especially when my friend told me about the moral choice element and the amount of endings. Now I like it for being ridiculous like a "so bad it's good" movie and it's still way better in execution than the other poorly-received Sonic games like Sonic Boom and '06 in my opinion. Also it was pretty brave of Sega to do this to their family-friendly franchise if nothing else, I can't see Nintendo pulling a Shadow.

Shadow the Hedgehog IS a Mary Sue fan character that they stole from a 13 year old Sonic fan. And that Sonic fan was, of course, a young Christian Weston Chandler. The trauma of Sega stealing Shadow from him turned him into the insane, Sonichu obsessed humanoid abomination he is today.

This is one of those games where it needs a remaster with modern technology. Like the multiple paths based on mission progression is actually a neat concept.

I have just found out that there is in fact a pump-action submachine gun that matches exactly the one Shadow used. It also only takes BLACK brand ammunition, the only ammo as dark as Shadow’s tortured soul. I have been living a lie.
