I appreciate the story as a a customer, but it also irritates me just a little as someone who used to work at a deli counter. There’s a certain script you’re taught to go by, or that you get kind of plugged into by routine. If a customer comes up and gives you their entire order in one sentence, it’s really irritating! You need to go step by step and it takes longer to put a sandwich together than that. How many sandwiches do you think I make in a day? I’m not going to remember all of your instructions thirty seconds from now because my short-term memory has been trained to let go of that information as quickly as possible.

In case anyone is curious, Famous Dave's is a barbeque place that gives you a ridiculous amount of food. Like, they litterally serve it on a garbage can lid. Like a garbage can filled with barbequed food and corn bread thats supposed to be for only 2 people. I went there with my dad on Easter once. It was alright.

As someone who worked at subway, we are trained to put less veggies than others because some are stronger than others. Also we ask the same question so many times because we are worried about everyone in line and want to make sure the sandwich is made right. It's not to be an inconvenience to the customer or anyone else. Also if you ever come in and there's someone on a laptop sitting in the lobby who looks very professional we're probably getting out shit fucked up by a higher up so we're stressed. Please be kind to your local subway workers

Dan's story about the model train diner @ 12:21 reminds me of a restaurant in downtown Seattle called the Iron Horse. It's not there anymore, but they used to deliver your order to your table via model train. It was the single most awesome thing to me when I was 6 to about 10 years old. I used to go there all the time with my grandparents before and after Mariners games. I miss that place.

There’s a Ninja Sushi here in Yuma, Arizona. It used to be a Denny’s or something, you can tell because they didn’t do much to the exterior. My father and I went in there once thinking that if they put so little money into the building and signage, it’d probably be on the cheaper side… nope. The interior was quite ornate, and the prices were through the roof. We didn’t even end up ordering sushi, just a couple of $20 rice bowls. If you’re ever in town, go to Blue Fin or one of the Asian buffets, they’re perfectly serviceable and don’t charge an arm and a leg.
