I think that the specialist are taken in reverse direction, bottom to top. The last space has 0 coins because no more specialist are available (so the cost is increased by 1 for each specialist of the same type already built). Fan of the channel, always great work

Well, I spent quite some time investigating this question and I don't have a good answer for that. And there are no threads on BGG discussing this. There's no clear instruction in the rulebook, but the pictures of specialists from pages 15 and 16 show the last specialist on the bottommost space. That would indicate you buy them from top to bottom. But you also have a good point and I agree with it - they should be bought from the bottom to the top.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, bgg is lacking of thread about the rulebook. I consider it a good rulebook, but I cannot trust the images. If I remember correctly, even if the setup image is not correct (not correct number of clay tokens and coins). And if it is not described that, it is a lack of information

Thanks for the rules explanation. I really like how the rondel works; it seems very smooth. But I think the scoring combos would really bog down the game end. I wish the scoring aspect was more streamlined.

Absolutely agree! The scoring is a mess in this game, I would also prefer fewer scoring options.

I don't really get why people are saying the scoring is a mess. Yes, there's a to to it, but it's pretty clear and step-by-step -- you just have to follow it step by step. Less ways to score would gut the game. If you don't like the amount of scoring combos, I think you want a diffferent game, because it's the heart of this one.

Not really any house rules, but I agree - the scoring is a mess. Once you play one game it will become clear and obvious, but still messy.

What's your opinion of the game? I'm a big fan of Origins: First Builders, the first Kwapinski game from Board & Dice. Any opinion on the solo? Thanks!

I haven't played solo (I rarely do), but overall I like the game. I like the rondel here, it works really well, and I like simple actions, and I like the "area control" and spacial aspect of the statue building in Mausoleum. However, I hate hate hate those zillion ways of scoring! 😂 So, it's not going to make it into my TOP 50 ever, but it's a nice game. BUT there's a caveat! It works in 3 and 4p games, not so well in 2p games.
