I don’t think it was a diorama but the use of a tilt-shift lens where it only focuses on a small part of the image making the cars and houses look like miniatures on a game board. The diorama shots were real world filming through a tilt/shift lens which creates the miniature effect by tilting lens at angle to the sensor so only a thin vertical or horizontal line is in focus. Creates the illusion that you are looking at a miniature world because normally a wide shot of real world like that would be completely in focus.

Silver Spoons was a family sitcom about a wealthy and goofy dad who lives with his son (Ricky Schroeder) and their house was basically like a Chucky Cheese, toys and games everywhere. Bateman was the son's friend for a while. Valarie was a family sitcom with Bateman as the teen son. After season 2 the actress playing the mom was fired and the show was renamed to The Hogan Family. Eidie McClurg, who played the nosey neighbor, was also in a lot of 80s movies.

Game Night is easily my favorite comedy of the last 10 years. So many amazing line deliveries/performances. I can’t look at glass tables and Frito Lays without thinking about this movie. The same team that did this movie later did the Dungeons and Dragons movie. Before Dungeons and Dragons came out Game Night fans started to speculate online that D&D could potentially be a quasi-sequel to Game Night, with the Game Night cast playing D&D. I still think that it was a missed opportunity not having a credit scene where it showed the GN cast playing it.

I dont know if this comment will get back to you guys, but it's a real shame that there are these movies, these perfect movies that aren't as popular as they should be. Cause when you think about it, this movie was flawless, extremely funny, fantastic story, plot, characters...etc. I saw this in the theatres and when I came out I wouldve bet money that this movie would blow up, I mean in terms of comedy movies, I thought it would just dominate, that's how much fun I had. The humour was so clever and laugh out loud funny, Jason Bateman and the other actors were perfect. But sadly this movie didnt become as popular as it should have. There are a lot of movies like this in different genres, Dredd 2012 for example a perfect (and I really mean that), perfect action movie, D&D: Honor Among Thieves, another perfect fantasy, action comedy. SILVER SPOONS was this sitcom about a childish rich guy who finds out that a woman who he was briefly married to actually had a kid who shows up at his house one day as a pre-teen. The concept was that the parent was more childish than the kid and that they needed each other to both "grow up". Bateman played the best friend to the kid. VALERIE was probably where most people knew Bateman from. It was about a working mom trying to raise 3 young boys with an airline pilot husband who was rarely there. Not too different from a lot of current family sitcoms. The thing was, they FIRED the title character after season 2 over salary disputes. She sued for unfair firing and got a payout, but SEASON 3 CONTINUED where they pulled a ROSEANNE on her killing off her character and renaming the show THE HOGAN FAMILY, which Bateman continued his role on for another 4 seasons.

Both sitcoms are great Millennials and Gen Z should get into more stuff of the past like 80s TV. Too bad Rick Schroeder didn't end up a nice guy like Jason Bateman instead became a POS.

The part where Max and Annie try to take the bullet is my favorite. Just so chaotic, unnecessary and their gagging is the cherry on top. Also, it's such a criminally underrated movie. Not just a great script, but genuinely well crafted too with so any references.

More people should know about this movie. So many things are called underrated but this one fits the bill. Comes out of nowhere and is actually hilarious

Add the movie Tag to your list. It's along the lines of this film but it's inspired by a true story. Funny as hell but also has a lot of heart.

Tag is such an underrated movie. Knowing that it’s a true story makes the movie so much better. Obviously they took some creative liberties in the movie, it’s still wild to know those guys did it for that long and invested that much money over the years.

Casting Michael C. Hall as the “oh shit, no this one feels very real” crime boss for the double twist at the end was great. If you two have not seen Dexter, I highly recommend adding it to your tv show list!
