Can we also get a video on seeing which unique church cards are worth it? I've had a hard time picking which ones are actualy worth getting. And I guess the african civs would get their own dedicated tier list, since their's come with aging up.

I've been playing aoe3 since 2005...and after playing aoe4 beta I dare say the one thing I regret the most about this game is that they didnt make berries and farms relevant early... it's b/c hunts are usually so abundant and dependable that it has pushed berries and farms and what not to the fridges and late late late game..... Actually I wouldn't want hunts to be irrelevant though, so actually I'd like if they started you with 1 medium size hunt (5 bison or 7 deer) and start hunt gathering rates at .9food/s HOWEVER change all market upgrades into "food gathering buffs" rather than just hunt. Then sprinkle the map with very small pockets of hunts with oodles of berry bushes. This would make age Fast Fortress and Fast Imp strats that requires TONS of food to sustain to have to fight JUST to regain the map they potentially lost going age 3/4.

I’ve had an idea since the legacy release of this game for a villager army. It’s exactly as it sounds where you only use villagers, but I’ve refined the idea since I came up with it. You can use any civ you want, any cards (minus military shipments), any native upgrades, any revolt as long as the villagers don’t change and can use 5 pikemen and 15 crossbowmen but the rest of the army is just villagers.

That sounds awesome. What about outposts? Russia and France would do great, Hausa has wrestlers and Azzy can 0 pop dance for near instant spawn time

@@kenb2957 I think outposts will be fine since their multiplier again villagers is 1/4 damage. The pikemen are there more for the siege and the crossbowmen are to counter the pikemen. Forts I think would have to be banned, just because of how strong they are, though if someone can get around it I'm all for it. And the different civs add to different strategies as well. Courer des bois are stronger than normal villagers and get good buffs, but the Germans have the wagons that have double the HP of standard settler, where they can go into melee and tank hits. This is also just simple theory crafting and for fun, not an actual strategy.

How do you find a balance with training villagers and an army? I see these games and people have huge armies and tons of settlers, is it just elite level macro? lovin the vids, plz someone enlighten me on how they manage this. Thanks!

Yes and constant awareness. Create ticks in your mind where you check settlers, macro, herding, keeping troops queued, etc.

Put town center on hotkey 5, press 5 then Q to que a villager every 25 seconds (if you can't do that always have 2 villagers in que so you have 50 seconds). it is just a habbit thing.

I find it very hard to maintain eco while having fights and doing/dealing with raids, take a few seconds to move your guys to a new herd or mine and your army might be lost

@@ustanik9921 that’s why you don’t sometimes idling is okay when you’re in a big fight, your army is more important than a bit of missed micro. Using hot keys like the person above said and mitigate a lot of that.

I think there are 2 reasons: 1. Less Villagers, which means he will just always have less resources than red 2. No way to deal with the skirmishers (that counter his Musketeers) as Falconets are countered at by culverines and war wagons and hussars would be countered by the war wagons as well. He also doesn't have enough time to make something other than Musketeers, since reds push would kill him now.
