I didn't use an engine, per se, it's straight frame-by-frame animation. The characters as well as the backgrounds are based on Romancing Saga.

It's so rare on youtube someone who actually uses SIXTEEN bit graphics instead of fucking ugly boring and unoriginal 8bit nes style that i have to congratulate you for your hard work ! Saved to my playlist of mashups.

It's basic frame by frame animation in Adobe Flash CS3. FL Studio for the music, Photoshop for the graphics, and SFXR for some of the more basic sound effects.

That's one of the tracks that actually wasn't based directly on anything from the OST. I believe I got some inspiration from "The Assassin's Dagger", or at least that's what I named the project file while I was working on it.

You have to use the Fruity Soundfont plugin and download the SNES SF2 files to get the libraries of sounds from the games you like.
