Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) was a huge fan of Ed Sheeran. During scene rehearsals, another actor played Ed's role. When the camaras rolled for real, they switched the actor with Ed Sheeran as a surprise for Maisie. What you saw was Maisie acting her part while trying to keep her cool. It was reported that as soon as the scene ended, Maisie freaked out over Ed Sheeran.

Hell anyone just starting this show is gong to freak out about Jason Mamoa, but back in 2011 he was unknown. Does it ruin the immersion? In season 6 they got Max von Sydow who was already very famous actor to play the 3 eyed raven. Did it ruin the immerision? Grow up.

And as he said in that very moment that cercei told him the truth that he can't believe her, he probably knew all along but was always in denial. Also it is not the same having power than having someone worthy to give power once you are done, like Genghis Khan, he grew one of the biggest empires of all time but it didn't event last 2 generations, all the underling and son of he were all scheming and betraying each other, it is kinda the same with tywin, no one near he was a clever as they thought they were 😅😃🤣

Pretty shit reason for a cameo all things considered. If they wanted to surprise her they could’ve just asked Ed Sheeran to be in the background somewhere, so it wouldn’t be as jarring in the show. Other cameos were like this, so weren’t noticeable unless you knew.

Fun Fact how Ed Sheeran got into GOT: On one hand, Ed is a huge Fantasy fan, and also a huge Game of Thrones Fan. Somewhen he mentioned that he would love to appear in GoT. On the other hand, Arya`s actress, Maisie Williams, is a huge Ed Sheeran Fan. So the production team put 1 + 1 together and surprised her with this little extra-scene for her birthday :)

The Lannister scene was very beautiful because it shows just like was said that soldiers go fight for lords who are enemies, but they themselves are just soldiers fighting someone else’s war. You can be neighbors but end up on different sides just due to land
