And people seem to forget Tarly's was committing betrayal of an ally of Dany's which is similar to what the Boltons did to Starks (and therefore treason for siding with Cersei who actually murdered their Queen and killed innocent people with wildfire). IMO her executing Tarly's for disobedience is no different than Jon on his first day executing Janos. And I don't think Sam's aware he talking to Jon who was murdered for his compassion so I idea Jon may grant that to Sam's father and brother who just betray their liege lord is him being ridiculous in my book. Then again I never bought the idea Sam would've been able to go home if Dickon was the Lord. Dickon followed his father too much and was kind of brat when he saw Sam again.

I've heard a few people say this now. While it may vaguely resemble the Targ sigil, it is in fact a rune of the Old Gods. The children and the First Men used it all the time. You should know this, it's everywhere. It was on the walls of the dragon glass cave. It was how the stones were arranged at the Weirwood tree where the Night King was created. It was how the dead horses were arranged at The Fist of the First Men. I think the Night King uses it to mock the humans and the Children.

i had to explain the same thing to a friend of mine. while she INSISTED it resembled the targaryen sigil, i reminded her that the targaryen sigil actually styled as an allusion to the rune of the old gods as based from the god's wood in the deep north (where the night's king was born). so really, the fire just made it purely coincidental. it's almost like...... well, someone saying that the new scarface movie coming out won't be as good as the "original" scarface from the 80's, when the "original" scarface was actually from the 30's... does that make sense? i know you know what i'm trying to say, lol.

They were supposed to be safe in King’s Landing until the war broke out. But then Rhaegar died on the battlefield, and it was his FATHER, the Mad King, who ordered for Elia and the children to stay at King’s Landing despite the fact that the war was being lost. Look up the events of Robert’s Rebellion and its implications for House Martell. Aerys kept Elia and his grandchildren in King’s Landing as HOSTAGES against possible Dornish betrayal. The rest is history. It’s all very sad and complicated, but it seems a bit unfair to blame Rhaegar for everything.

@@defiante1 Well, my point is the exact symbol is used by both the White Walkers and the Children of the Forest. So the key is figuring out what that symbol means. Does it represent the pact between Men and the Children of the Forest that men keep breaking, and that's why the White Walkers keep coming back after the pact is broken again? The First men and the CoF go to war, the CoF create White Walkers, and they end the war with a pact of Men claiming all but the Forests and leaving the Weirwood trees alone. Then the Andals come with war and a new religion, killing everyone, and burning Forests and Weirwood trees.....the White Walkers come back......now a new religion is coming, the Lord of Light (R'hllor), and they start burning and plan to burn down all the Weirwood trees.....and the White Walkers are back now. If all this is true.....are the White Walkers really the bad guys?
