I honestly believe that robert, in his prime, was one of the greatest warriors ever. As mentioned, he was able to wield a hammer one handed that most men couldn't lift. I tgibk his strength is actually equal to that of the mountain; sure, he's shorter and dkesnt weigh as much, but still that means nothing. I know plenty of tall large men who are weaker than men shorter than them ( I only am 5"11 but I can bench over 400 pounds 405 my max). And robert, unlike the mountain, is a much smarter and more intelligent battle commander than clegane. Clegane is a wild animal only able to carry out basic orders. I don't know of any battle in which he fought that he personally devised the plan; he simply carried out tywins orders. Also robert would also be quicker; and lastly the mountains rage would be detrimental to a fight. Rage blinds someone, and while it may grant extra strength due to adrenaline and anger, it also makes them clumsier and less accurate. Robert I think eojkd keep his cool much better then the mountain

And doesn't praise himself in his achievements he forgets what he done, but gives other the glory while he enjoys the peaceful life. For instance in Roberts Rebellion, Ned saved Roberts life. Ned done so much more in it than Robert but Ned turned away from the Iron Throne although he probably had most reason for it. Giving it to Robert. As Ned said to Barristan he's glad he didn't meet him on the field. The widow life wouldn't suit his wife. But Barristan returns a true comment saying of how Ned was taking himself for less, as we know the First Men are naturally bigger and stronger, naturally. But in the case of the Cleganes they are just a family bred in that. So Ned would have the strength and take it Ned was old when fighting Jamie. But it wasn't life Ned was only showing strain. What's the point of having size as a category? Size doesn't matter if you can get enough strength behind your swings which comes into technique category. otherwise being big just makes you a bigger target, Robert should easily have the edge with force. Anyway you don't piece plate armor, you do stuff like half swording or using blunt damage. There are always kinks in armor like under the armpit that literally have to exist or you can't move. But yeah versus plate armor you have to use blunt damage (like maybe half swording and hitting the enemy with the bottom of the sword) or you have to piece a weak spot with accuracy, all things considered, I don't think the mountain could cut do much against good plate armor if he got a hit in and he'd have to resort to physical combat or half swording which he's not shown profeciency in, all the while robert has a very blunt weapon which would not require hitting specific weak points in the armor and so he could just hit him directly. "omg I drew it" he said as he drew the only one in the hat that had any difference to the others, ie he fake drew it. Also the x factor literally ruins the point of this video series.

Rhaegar goes into hiding ( probably Dragonstone ) and tries to gather all the Lords still loyal to him in order to retake the throne. The question here is if the Mountain would still kill Elia and her children because if that happened and Rhaegar is still alive... Dorne would probably refuse to help Rhaegar and would do the same thing they did in the books. Eventually Rhaegar would still lose though. Tywin would make sure of that.

Why would king's landing still get sacked? The Lannisters only joined Roberts's Rebellion when it became clear that Robert would win, aka when Rheagar died.

Even if Rhaegar was victorious at the Battle of the Trident, his forces would be severely weakened as a result of this battle. Rhaegar had 40,000 men. The rebels had a little less than 40,000 but their men were better warriors. So even if Rhaegar was victorious he would've still lost a large portion of his army. Tywin Lannister would still sack KL and take out what's left of the Targaryen forces seeing how he would probably have superior numbers and Rhaegar would lose his home ( King's Landing ). Tywin wouldn't even have to go after Rhaegar and his army, he would just wait for them to come and try to retake the city and then he would annihilate them.

That's still unlikely since he would have no one to put on the throne, and Tywin is smart enough to know very few people would make a better king than Rhaegar.

Agreed. Oberyn actually defeated the Mountain; it was his gloating and insistence on hearing a "confession" that caused his death. Had he just decided to finish off the Mountain, he would have achieved what no one thought possible.

I don't see it that way personally. I think The Mountain didn't care about Oberyn, whereas he had bad blood with The Hound. Oberyn just happened to beat him.

Hey bro! I can't argue that the numbers could've potentially been closer. Robert is a beast, The Mountain is a beast. I swear on everything holy that I didn't pull that specific paper. I'll post the raw footage of that if people are really uncertain about it. I only cut it out because there was a good 4 second portion where the paper wouldn't go in focus (hence the sudden cut). It was the greatest thing that could've happened for this video and it did. I'm surprised, too. Thanks buddy! I didn't do a Victarian yet, but he will be in the next series of new DeathMatch characters (including people like Tormund, Strong Belwas, Greyworm, Syrio, etc.) Thanks again!!!!

Just an idea of Roberts strength: Even when he was all fat and drunk he still drove a knife through *a boar's skull*. And those things are thick, you gt no fucking idea. In slaughterhouses they have to use special stunners to kill pigs, and not to mention this was an exceptionally large boar we are talking about.

Personally I think that raegar had been very undervalued in this. He was an incredible fighter and I think he would quite easily dispatch the hound ( who was beaten by bloody Briane of tarth) which would leave the mountain and the last dragon with a numbers advantage, not the other way around

Ok but why does the mountain look different every time I see him tho… In season 1 in the tournament against the flower knight he looked one way, then in season 2 when he chooses the slavers in casterly rock he looks completely different and MUCH more thin with kinda a different face, and then in season 4 when he fights Oberyn he looks big again with hair a bit more brown than black, then he’s all the sudden a zombie mountain which is most certainly with another actor. Soooooo….. are there more than 1 mountain’s or did he just get recast 4 times???

Robert wouldn't have trained with Robert with Ice in the Vale, Rickard was still alive when they were there and would therefore still have Ice. Also, Ice is described as a ceremonial sword and not what Ned actually used in battle. It can also be argued that Oberyn has just as much, if not more hate, for The Mountain as The Hound.

One thought on the X-Factor: Have something like 6 to 12 standard X-Factors that could be chosen, assign them a number and have pair of dice or a die which totals the number of choices, after the basic matchup, roll the dice and apply the selected X-Factor.
