The scene was really underwhelming and boring compared to the book. Stop praising what's IN the scene, think of what's NOT in it. Like why does Eddard Stark look so hale? He should be so weak and injured to be barely able to speak at first, he had to be held up by two men in the book. Not to mention he should be dirty as Arya at this point. And supposedly angry mob just throws one rock at him and stop all on their own even when no one ordered them to stop? At least the mob's burst of anger should take time before simmering down. In the book they threw so many they hit the men holding Eddard and guards came forward with shields to protect the royal family. Sansa's acting was tame. In the book she immediately collapsed to her knees and was wailing. Here she just gets the standard "guard holds her back" posture :P 80% of this "analysis" is just putting obvious descriptions to obvious simple, easy-to-understand shots. Just lengthens the video for no value.

@Sonchuo
@Sonchuo 5 жыл бұрын
I never understood the hatred for CGI. When CGI is done really well the viewer doesn't even notice, only when it's really bad does the viewer complain about it (which is understandable). But it's been done so much now in cinematography these days that its only been getting better and better. It has made film making not only easier but essentially better because certain aspects/scenes of the show are simply impossible without it. We honestly take it for granted.

@@Sonchuo That's the problem with CGI, it has to be done correctly in order to be successful, which most movies are not capable of doing. What I love about this breakdown is he mentions how when he looks at the scene he see’s a much “lower” budget than the later seasons. But it’s shot so beautifully and story wise it’s such an important moment to the entire series that even with the series complete it doesn’t stand out as a lower budget scene. And it still remains one of the biggest moments in television history.

So you saying them having the sept in the background or the empty space filled with more people would have ruined the scene? Strange thinking there.

It's a story to tell, but definitly there is a team behind and in front the cameras that make us to connect and believe in the personality of each characters, and he believed in honor, nobility, friendship and family, and we embraced all these gift and apreciate them in one person, perhaps that is the reason, it hit but the story did not end, and we wanted to know more his family.

The way the scene went , the gravity of it ,with Ned stark dying leaving his sons and daughters in need and how he thinks of his last moments and 100 things is what makes this scene by far the most powerful scene

It's always nostalgic to look back and see Ned before he died and became the man that people always talked about. Not only was he like the main character in that season, but Sean Bean was also the movie star of the cast who had been more recognizable in Hollywood. When he died, the movie star quality subsided and it was all about getting used to a majority of actors who were either newcomers or veterans in UK films, indie films, character acting, and other TV shows.
