Okay now I honestly think that the show writers are just fucking with book readers. Seriously they passed on Satin, Lady Stoneheart, Strong Belwas, Edric Storm, Sansa’s storyline, The Dorne storyline, and logic all together but they are going to make time to adapt Harry Strickland??? I like Harry Strickland for what it's worth, but.. it is Harry Strickland. At this point I do not want them to add any more book characters in the wreckage of the show.

I fail to see... anything about this, good or bad. The Golden Company is going to appear, it has a leader, and that leader must have a name, I doubt they even thought much about it, if he was nameless in the book the character would still exist as "GC Leader".

At this point I only hope that season 8 will not be a complete shitshow (but most likely it will). It became blatantly clear during season 7 that showrunners chose spectacle over substance most of the time, aren't interested in telling compelling story, revert to using boobs, dick jokes and clichés to fill the run time of each episode. I hope that show doesn't end with either "...and they lived happily ever after" or "..and then they all died" ending, I've always envisioned some type of "Pyrrhic victory" type of ending and I hope that we'll get that. To be honest - I haven't even started to read the books. I'll wait for GRRM to finish the book series and then I'll buy them. Though I have a bad feeling that it would take ~10 more years for GRRM to write Dream of Spring (if he's going to write it at all).

Then as you explained: "oh ya, that guy." I've lost faith in the show but only watch because I fear show supremisist ruining it if I waited.

I mean, I'm kinda with you on the weird character choice, I'm one of the people sad the show isn't closer to the books (especially with the castles last season, that was rough.) but this was honestly kind of out of left field. Would have preferred a cooler cameo at some other point tbh, Marwyn or something would'a been neat.
