Jon, having Targaryen blood, is the fire saving the world from the white walkers one step at a time, (i.e. making an alliance with the wildlings). He's proved many times that he'll do whatever it takes to oppose the white walkers, even if it means abandoning the Night's Watch itself. He is a physical embodiment of the fire because of his Targaryen blood and its association with dragons.The same goes for Tyrion. The forces that led up to Tyrion being brought to Daenerys are undoubtedly celestially orchestrated. The false accusation of murder, the killing of his father, and his capture by Jorah all lead to the fire becoming stronger so that it may strike down the ice when the time comes. Something about Targaryen blood being so closely associated with dragons is symbolic that the last 3 survivors associated with the Targaryen dynasty are the ones responsible for rekindling the fire so that they may oppose the ice coming from the north. Everything in this show happens very carefully for a reason. The reason Melisandre's revival of Jon Snow is so successful is because he kindles the fire within him. The Red God, originating from Essos, where the Targaryens and dragons also originated from, must have some sort of innate relation to dragons due to them both being associated with fire. Like I said, everything in this show is a beautiful orchestration of how the fire, embodied within the dragons and those with Targaryen blood(Jon, Dany, and Tyrion), manifests itself in the world in order to beat the ice when the time comes.

I didn't watch the first three years because I didn't think I would even like GOT ; it did not seem like anything I was interested in . How I got so Hooked on GOT is a long/weird thing but from the moment I saw season 1 episode 1 that was all it took for me . The story seems to have painted itself into a bit of a corner if they're not going with R+L=J. If Lyanna isn't Jon's mother then who is? Just some random chick? After the question of his mother's identity has been hanging around this whole time? Also why do we care (esp in the show) about the Tower of Joy if there's not something important that came out of it which still links to the present? Jon would be that thing if it's true but if it's not then that's just some stuff that Ned Stark did years ago. Interesting to Bran I suppose but doesn't further the story.

They've pretty much confirmed "R + L = J" by bringing back Jon just as Bran started warging in time. And I think Ned's lying about who actually killed Arthur Dane is just kinda like, "Oh, so you think THAT'S a whopper? Well, get ready, cuz GoT bout to drop da bomb!" It's just one lie that Ned told that's going to massively unravel into a much bigger web of lies that concern the birth of Jon Targaryen.

I honestly don't think that the "Song of Ice and Fire" represents two specific people. Even GRRM stated himself that he doesn't like to be obvious and his metaphors don't have to be specific. They can just encompass a larger picture. So I think A Song of Ice and Fire represents the entirety of the stories. Not just two individuals that happen to represent each element. I dunno. So, the three headed dragon would be, I think the majority of us agree (?), Danaerys, Jon, and Tyrion. In the first book it talks about how, while all the Lannisters had golden hair, Tyrion's was almost white. Anyway, it would make sense since they're all in the same sort of situation of being alone, no family (literally in the case for Danaerys, and figuratively for Jon (bastard, parents dead, no biological siblings) and Tywin (they all hate him and he doesn't "belong"). So, if they all find out that they're related, they'd be like this super-group-threesome-new-family- alliance thing..

Like, Jon will succeed in leading the battle (and defeat) of the White Walkers, but he along with many beloved characters will die in the process (including Jon). All of Westoros torn into shambles, the tradition of the Iron Throne destroyed, with the only legitimate protectors of the realm being the Night's Watch w/ the full unification of the new Targaryen empire lead by Dany with Tyrion (who may actually be her brother) as her adviser. I don't understand how Daenerys could ever be the prince who was promised who is going to save the world from the white walkers. She is not a good commanding leader. She is brave, she is kind, she is ambitious, she is a survivor but leading Westeros is not the same as leading slaves who she freed. Her biggest strength is her dragons. But it seems like she still doesn't know how to control those dragons. Maybe she will learn. But it still seems like cheating. She wins simply because of dragons. I don't think Jon Snow would ever want to sit on the throne but he seems to be the only man who can lead people and save them. Tyrion might have a physical disadvantage but what he lacks physically he makes up with his intelligence. He knows politics, he can unite and lead. Daenerys dreams of leading and uniting, she wants to "break the wheel" but her track record so far sucks. Maybe things will change if she can get the dothrakis behind her on her own.

+xperfangel5655 I think Jon will end up on the Iron Throne, but he will cede a great deal of his practical power, turning Westeros into sort of a proto- constitutional monarchy, with the hand of the king functioning as a sort of prime minister. I think he'll appoint Tyrion as his first hand, but leave it open to perhaps election by an assembly of lords in the future, which will likely turn into popular elections with expanding suffrage in future centuries. His small council will include Sam (obviously).

I was saying i don't doubt that R+L=J though i didn't really know the sisters name before the video though i'd heard it in the show it didn't seem important at the time. The Tv show omits a lot that i've been catching up with via wiki and from a viewer who enjoys but doesn't really pick apart the episodes to see all the details how most people may not understand yet. But it seems far too television obvious at this point to be anything but, The Dwarf is still up in the air for me however, as his "father" has so much anger for the mothers death it'd be strange if he was a dragonling also. :p

Lyana Stark herself said that the reason she thought that a marriage with with Robert Baratheon wouldn't work is because he could never commit to only one woman, so it's highly unlikely that Lyana would take part in a polygamous marriage. Even if she did marry Rheagar, there is no legal precedence for their marriage, Jon Snow is a bastard either way.

I'm pretty sure that the Jon/Meera theory is not going to be a book thing, however after episodes 6.2 & 6.3 it really looks like the show is going in this direction. The foreshadowing is ramping up on the show by showing Lyanna, Meera, & Jon back to back to back in 6.2. Meera's hair is straighter and she is made to look more like Lyanna in 6.2. Finally, we are hit over the head to make sure that everyone knows that Meera is the daughter of Howland Reed. It's almost like Bran is being led in a direction that will confirm that Jon & Meera are twins...

It's absolutely true. There are so many hints, particularly in the first book about Jon being Rhaegar and Lyanna's son, which would make him a Targaryen. On top of that , Tyrion is probably a Targ as well (although while I'm positive about R+L=J, I'm not positive about Tyrion). But it would make sense. There are a lot of similarities with the three of them, such as the fact that they ALL killed their mothers during childbirth. Jon killed Lyanna in the Tower of Joy, Daenerys' mother died giving birth to her on Dragonstone during a storm (why she is called Stormborn), and Tyrion killed his mother which is ONE of the reasons Tywin and Cersei hate him so much, although there are a few other key reasons that they hate him too. But I've gone on long enough. Cheers.

As a theory, R+L=J seems to be a heavily supported theory amongst the fandom. There's too many things that don't add up for Ned to be the father and there's too many hints and pieces of evidence about Lyanna and the Tower of Joy for that event to be completely ignored. But I'm still suspicious simply because of the writer. George RR Martin has made a reputation for himself in creating plots that are not easy to decipher. He usually gives hints (look at Littlefinger and his plot) but it's very rarely so obviously stated as 'she was found in a pool of blood'.

I was reading chapter 44 Eddard of GOT, I realized that Lyanna didn´t like Robert because he was a drunk. We all know Reagar was a cutie, Ned was too honorable to father a bastard, he refused to murder Daenerys despite It was a understandable idea, a threat to the realm (Robert wanted to erase the Targariens and Ned´s son "was" one of them). jon snow is really a stark. He is not ned starks son. He is neds sisters son. And the dude in bran's vision with the guy with the two swords is his father and was a targaryen. He raped her, and that scream from the castle was her giving birth and she died. Jon snow is half stark and targaryen. Which means Khalessi and Jon are the true rulers of the 7 kingdoms. Remeber when ned told Jon that he really is a stark but he would tell him when the time is right? Before Jon left for the nightwatch? but ned dies so he didn't get a chance to know.
