As a fully trained model maker and SFX artist I always find the behind the scenes footage on other productions to be fascinating. I can definitely vouch for how the removal of full face prosthetics is no joke, I once witnessed an actor get so frustrated with the make up that they attempted to pull the entire appliance off and about two seconds later the scream he let out was terrifying.

I have so much appreciation for the people behind the costumes/special effects for Game of Thrones, the work they do is always so breathe taking and jaw dropping, it's a favorite part of the series for me. Not only is Game of Thrones season 6 coming out this year (which looks so boss), but Deadpool also came out just a month ago and soon Captain America Civil War will be out, 2016 is definitely going to be a great year for Movies and T.V series. Side Note: Thank you so much Charlie (I'm guessing that's how you spell it) for making these videos, I really enjoy them and they are always a highlight on KZbin for me. Keep up the awesome work!!

I'm going to go back and relisten, but from what little I know about makeup/prosthetics I think you misinterpreted. Appliances are "glued" on, and if ripped off it can damage the skin and cause irritations, ripping out of facial hair and hair around the face (forehead), and maybe even minor lesions, but it would peel your whole face off poltergeist style. The skin has many layers.

I just started rewatching the series ... and it's still as exciting as when I first watched it. I think the white walkers are wonderfully realized. They're not too over the top but look like they could kill a bitch with one look. I can't wait to see Bran, he's changed so much!

Unfortunately, white walkers is the worst part of the series from a design point of view. Instead of making them crinkled old snow zombies covered in black leather and primitive weapons, they should have made them hauntingly beautiful and otherworldly, and with very sophisticated and beautiful armour and weaponry made of ice, just like GRRM described them to be. Guillermo Del Toro's design for Elves in Hellboy 2 would be much closer to Others in books.

I'm pretty pissed about the recasting of the Nights King. The first one had a certain look to it... his nose looked slightly turned up, and his eyes weren't so close together. He just looked more badass. This new one looks like he's a dwarf off Lord of the Rings. The Dwarf Nights King. His nose is pointed down (shows his age I guess), his chin is more out their, he seems to have more wrinkles. I'm just overall disappointed with the recast.

What I find interesting about the 'new' Night's King is that the makeup seems almost identical and the guy doesn't seem to be different, it's just THE NOSE that is different. It's more filled out, less drawn and more skin than flesh like the first Night's King we saw. Perhaps this is a flashback and Bran is just seeing THE SAME Night's King hundreds of years earlier before he became a completely frozen husk. Im not so sure that there have been different Night's Kings. We know so little about them so that's not totally beyond reason to think that. Great video as always, Charlie! Now I wanna go play with some prosthetic appliances. ;3

I think it's the old Nights King, from 8,000 years ago. Bran can travel in space and time, he goes to see the events of the previous war. he goes to see how the war from the past wax won.

My theory is that the big White Walker battle that keeps being hinted at, is not between the White Walkers and any currently living characters on the show (or Bran), but that it takes place thousands of years before. Bran's only involvement in it is that he is seeing it all unfold through a vision, since he is obviously standing on both two feet at the end of the trailer, when he turns around and sees the Night's King. Hopefully its some big battle between men and the White Walkers. I just really like the idea of them showing us visions of the Long Night, just how chilling it would be to see the Night's King alive and in action thousands of years before the events in the show. This would be possible and also very likely since there are no limitations of time to Bran's visions, they could date back 8000 years and more. I will be very surprised and disappointed if they don't show us more than the Tower of Joy scene...

Been reading some of the speculation (since we're out of book spoilers). One speculation is that the white walkers will interrupt Bastard Bowl between Jon Snow's forces (including the wildlings) and the Boltons. Some speculation said that Jon, Petyr, Sansa, and Ramsey are all in Winterfell when attacked by the white walkers and have to join forces to survive. This is just wild speculation and we might just end up with a non-walker Bastard Bowl but it's an interesting idea that they would have the walkers already so far south as Winterfell this season.

Originally I wished they didn't make the white walkers look like monsters. They're supposed to have an "other worldly beauty" to them. However the night king last season was so perfect that it's impossible to criticize. The other white walkers just look like old monsters. This is just my opinion, but for the direction they took, they did an excellent job.
