Spot on, the ending was ridiculous Jon would have been chopped up into little bits! They should have had the Dragon try to burn Jon and him become the ‘unburned’ able to control the dragon and prevent the unsullied etc from killing him. That or have a real GoT twist and have Danny stab Jon! That would have been more true to the story where evil seems to triumph quite a bit.

No continuity, bran is a warg so he could've controlled drogon and stopped him burning kings landing, aryas whole journey for 8 seasons has been about exacting revenge on the people who killed her family but she didn't get to kill cersei, bron was tyrions friend but the last time he saw him he chinned him and told him he was going to kill him or Jaime, then Jaime, he spent 8 seasons developing his character and attoning for his past behaviour (bron, ned) and then suddenly after putting his life on the line to fight for dany, turns out he was so cunt all along. I also think the cast should shoulder some of the blame, contract or not they knew this season, particularly the finale, was awful and they could've witheld their services until d&d wrote better scripts. The real shame is that possibly the best television series of all time will now only be remembered for the pathetic final season.

Now when I look back on the rest of the seasons I don't get why the WW and NK were made out to be this ever looming dark presence when in the end both them and the battle that ensude was turned in to something rather insignificant. Like what was the deal with them constantly going after Bran? What did they want from him? Can someone please explain because a number of the story arks fizzled out almost completely in the end and it felt, to me, like these arks ended up being virtually pointless.

The unsullied were ruled by Dany, without her they were lost. Greyworm knew enough to know that if he killed Jon there would be war again. For Jon Snow to be known as 'The Queenslayer', the people would have had to accept Daenerys as queen. That had not happened. In addition, Jaime Lannister was called 'Kingslayer' because the events that led to him killing the king he was sworn to protect were unknown. In Jon's case, he killed the would-be queen who had just reduced King's Landing to ashes and was planning on going further. Even if he had been seen fighting for her cause, the necessity of his actions were clear. Jon Snow may however be called "Queenslayer" among The Unsullied and the Dothraki. Daenerys was queen to them.

Had Daenerys eventually been proclaimed queen, they would have been benefactors but as it stood, they had an alliance to provide her naval strength as well as the ability to transport her forces to Westeros. In return for their independence. It doesn't seem to me that she was queen to them. Just a powerful ally. The North followed Jon Snow. If she was ever their queen it was because he said she was. If any Northerner had been in that throne room when Jon went to kill Daenerys, it is unlikely they would have tried to stop him. Daenerys may have been favoured over Cersei among a few factions but she was never queen of any part of Westeros. Not in any way that truly mattered.

Instead he chooses to warn nobody of the potentially horrible possibilities (at least Sansa didn't know beforehand when breaking her promise to Jon and spreading Jon's linage info that it would help ruin Jon's life-Bran cannot say that). Bran even increases the chance of a horrible possibility occurring by what he does do. And then knows ahead of time to show up at Kings Landing to become king. Letting thousands of people die just to knock out 2 other candidates for the throne is not a sign Bran cares about his people.

Why would anyone that remotely cares about Jon will reveal he is a targaryen AFTER another targaryen has burned down a city? Do you think other lords of westeros will let him live after the revelation. They bargained with unsullied because they think he killed a tyrant. But after the revelation they'll think that he killed her to get the throne and hence he is a bigger tyrant.

Yeah, I wonder if Varys' little birds were able to get some of his letters out before he died. Shows him only burning some...but how long had he been writing? More people have to know about Jon's birthright. But birthrights are not officially acknowledged by the main people in power anymore. Maybe there is someone or some time period in the future where this become legitimate (no bastard pun intended) again...

I think people are way too negative online. Take the good and the bad. Don't just focus on bad or what you remembered last. I know the last couple of seasons weren't exactly great but we can't forget or ignore what a great show GoT used to be. TV shows are kinda like athletes in sports. Some shows hang around a little too long. I don't want to remember Michael Jordan as a Wizard. I want to remember him at his best. It's the same here. We can still remember the best moments from their run. "The Iron Throne" isn't exactly a bad episode. It's actually pretty good if you see all the callbacks and reasoning. Not in my Top 10 but it isn't awful like so many say it is. Beautifully shot especially when Dany said her speech. And the Starks really did deserve to win. I just want to thank the Game of Thrones cast and crew for eight crazy seasons. Stop the hating already. The Godfather films all ended tragically. The Empire Strikes Back ended in a downer. It mirrors real life. It usually ends in a downer when we all die. I'll still follow the GRRM spinoffs with prequels, sequels, or side stories. The mythology is actually more interesting to me than Star Wars Expanded Universe. Thank you again, GoT.
