I like to think that Sansa also is more Tully than Stark as she grew up. Becoming more like her mother physically and personally. She lacks most of the stubbornness that became an unintended Stark personality trait in most the family. A lot of determination and compassion too. So if Edmure doesn't survive this season, the Tullys might be gone in name but not in blood.

There is more of her mother in Arya too than most people give either credit for. Perhaps the most successful mix of Stark and Tully is on the one who avenges family upon another family. She knows how to swim unseen in the waters, but this fish bites.

Since it's Ned's dedication to honor that kills him (warning Cersei and not paying Littlefinger to secure the loyalty of the knights) and Catelyn's dedication to family that kills her (setting Jaime free made them vulnerable).

Don't forget that tv CAN'T do everything a book can. It takes a LOT of money to make a tv show, especially one with all the special effects Game of Thrones has. There are too many things in the book that is important to the story, but some have to be sacrificed for the even bigger things. They probably could have done Lady Stoneheart, but then we may not have gotten the direwolves, or Faegon and not the White Walkers or the dragons. A book or book series has almost unlimited space and resources for an epic story where you can have a thousand characters, creatures and locations, but tv and movies don't. It was probably cheaper to make the Lord of the Rings movies all together than Game of Thrones.

If you think about it, it's Catelyn's biggest strength that's also her downfall. She loves and is so devoted to the concept of 'family', it also leaves her vulnerable to these same people. It’s silly to say things like “if only they listened to cat” when her judgment cost them the war. Regardless, you’ll never hear me argue that littlefinger wasn’t the one who caused basically everything but it was also up to cat to not fall into his traps and she failed miserably

This is another good analysis. I especially like how it highlights Catelyn Stark wisdom and prophetic advice. She's the only Tully we've gotten the chance to get to know well during the series and she is the embodiment of the house's values. A

I hope you guys continue to make these videos. They offer so much to the viewer, thought provoking and insightful, you just get pulled in from beginning to end. Love all your Game Of Thrones videos. House Stark, House Targaryen and House Tyrell were my favs now I can add this to the lot!

The logic and sense for these symbols and colors are put together well. The coolest part is that i didn't even know the Tully were a house or kingdom.

In book one, it was Catelyn who ultimately convinced Ned to be Robert's Hand while Ned has decided to refuse. She regretted it very much later because it's as if she sent her husband and daughters to death's door.

The phrase "blood is thicker than water" originally meant "the blood of the battlefield is thicker than the water of the womb" but with the way the phrase is commonly used nowadays, "family is more important than friendship" it works for house Tully. P.S. I loved this video and learned/remembered more about the Tullys than I imagined I ever would :p

Michele Fairley did an awesome portrayal of Catelyn Stark tho i dont know how she is in the books but her acting in the show is superb especially the in the red wedding. Gut and heart wrenching scene of mother trying to save her son.

I wouldn't call it feminine intuition, more like Hoster knew how to read the room. As after the show concluded, his son is Lord of the Riverlands, one of his grandsons is Lord of the Vale, another grandson is King of all south of the Neck and one of his granddaughters is Queen of the North, with the another granddaughter slaying the Great Other/The Night King. And he died still Lord of The Riverlands unbeaten of old age, the true winner of the Game of Thrones

Show Catelyn did something rare - beat out her book characterization. Ironically, book Cat said Ned HAD to accept the hand position. The whole monologue about Jon’s fever wasnt in the book either, which surprised me because I found it so well done and touching. All in all, Cat is another “love to hate” character who is greatly misunderstood (a lot like Sansa)

The scene where Cat tries to convince Ned to *not* go to King's Landing comes right after she convinced him to go! I'm pretty sure it was the same in the books, and while it shows her ability to be flexible when given new information, it still annoys me immensely! Lol

Also, House Arryn has blue for their main color and they put honor above all else. Tulley puts the red over the blue, quite literally blood over honor.

I wonder, is this the end of the "House Symbolism" series of videos, or will they do more minor houses? Many of those they have already done, like Boltons or Tarlys, aren't a part of the "big seven", what other houses could they cover?

Technically the Boltons were a great house for a short period of time

In the books Catelyn tells Eddard to accept King Robert's position as Hand of the King, even after he said he would refuse it. For some reason the show flips this around.
