It's sad to see the dynamic between these three so clearly and know what it will derange into. Jamie's stupid love for a crazy woman and his admiration for his little brother. Cersei's blind hate for her little brother and selfish control over Jamie. And Tyrion's relentless desire to just be a family.

It’s a lot more complex. Do a reread. The prophecy Cersei got as a child, the family dynamics. Some of the dialogue. In fact going back and watching character development as shit hits the fan is my favorite aspect of rereading. This scene is set early in book 1 (A Game of Thrones). At the moment there’s mild strife. No war, just some shifting gears, political aspects- hence why book 1 is named AGOT, it’s mostly just setting precedent. The Lannisters are a complex family. You’ve got the Lannisters of Lannisport than those of Casterly Rock (btw which looks nothing like what the show portrayed). You’ve got the complex history of Tywin and his father, death of his wife known to be the only person to make him smile, you actually get insight into the kids upbringings. I mean the show ruined so much. For instance, the Martells would NEVER hurt Myrcella. Quite the opposite they want to crown her. Tyrions demise into depression before (the show never even involved his time with young griff (Aegon/possibly Faegon), he becomes so despondent because Jaime admits that his first wife was NOT a whore but it was staged. Cersei becomes so just stale in the show but in the books there’s so much more. Jaimes journey towards redemption is so well articulated in the books. Especially considering Briennes chapters are some of the best but they were non existent in the show. This scene here is more like a window into BOOK 1. It really has nothing to do with what dumb and dumber did to the show.

Myrcella literally gets her ear cut off by Darkstar, the lover of Arianne Martell, in an attempt to kill her and start a war between the Lannisters and Martells... The show changes who exactly does the attacka and hot the attack happens and the results of the attack, but the overall conflict between the Martells is the same... Some want peace and love Myrcella, others want her dead because she's a Lannister...

Nah, Tyrion's actor is 1 year older than Jaime's, and 3-4 years older than Cersei's. I guess it's because actors with dwarfism are a rare find, and Peter Dinklage was a big name. It's funny because he's in his mid 20s in the book and about 8 years younger than Jaime and Cersei. But of course the show had to make do with what was feasible.
