She never fooled you. You always knew exactly what she was and you loved her anyway. Tyrion was always straight up with people including his family. He was spot on too and it's important people hear the truth about themselves if they're in denial.
@melodyknievel5158 ай бұрын
I didn't really notice a close relationship between the two of them in the earlier seasons at first, but small moments here and there show it. Like the first scene, Jaime saying "Don't leave me alone with these people" indicating Tyrion was the only person he could tolerate at a large gathering of people. I consider my own brother one of my best friends and any gathering of any kind is way better when he's there because I feel less alone and know I'll have someone to talk to who wants to be there about as much as I do. I just binged the whole series for the first time in like a month and finished it yesterday. I watched it so fast I feel like there are details I'm missing, but did they ever incorporate Tyrion expressing any concern while Jaime was captive? He seemed to be the only one who really cares he was back, but I can't remember how he reacted while he was gone
@subutaynoyan53728 ай бұрын
It's because they never managed to portray Jaime well. They also discarded how devout Tyrion actually is in the books to his family. For example, when Catelyn abducts Tyrion and they're attacked by hill tribes in the Vale, Tyrion argues that he has nothing to do with Bran's assassination attempt, that Littlefinger is a poor source for news, that Littlefinger still claims he took Catelyn's maidenhood, and that he would never ever bet money against his own family. Which is supported by Renly, at the tourney in the name of Eddard. Renly won quite the bet on the Hound vs Jaime joust, he was saying he wished Tyrion to be there because he always bets money on his brother. Jaime is fierce in the books. Not this punk who seems he has too little care because he's rich When he's challenged, he draws his sword. He really doesn't back down and has a fierce devotion to Tyrion, and is actually as witty and snide as him.

"Don't leave me alone with these people"... Jaime means the Starks, not "a large gathering of people" in general. I don't think Jaime fears large gatherings of people 😂 He hates Ned and his family, that is all. Benjen Stark (Ned's brother) tells Jon something very similar "I'll go inside, to rescue your father from his guests". This is episode 1.1... so, the real purpose is to introduce the characters and suggest there's some old problem between Starks and Lannisters.

But his character arc was honestly the only thing that kept me going at the end of the show. It's a travesty how he met his final end (which, probably, could be said for a lot of characters), but he was great up until then. I make fun of him on other vids, but I really did like him.
