I don't agree. I certainly don't. Malbork is really large and impressive, that's true, but there are places even better, or at least comparable with it. The Czocha Castle, The Moszna Castle, and many more - all those are amazing (and quite frankly, I find both Czocha and Moszna way cooler than Malbork). Curious, have you ever been to Poland?

No it is not impressive. It is ugly reminder of Stalinism and monument dedicated to soviet rule. Moreover most of countries that were under soviet sphere has a variation of that building which originates from a building in Russia. Money and labour wasted on that thing could have helped rebuilding Warsaw.

True and that is where generally cultural and historical policy of our country have been failing for years. Some people complain because they do not like current government but I love the fact that in public TV news programs, intro and background was changed. Earlier it was the Palace of Culture in Science. Now it is changed to Royal Castle in Warsaw. A significant change. And we do have some fine architecture, sadly a LOT was lost when germans practically razed Warsaw but there are other cities. It is not that there are no memorable structures but the thing that they are not advertised properly.

Well the fact that partially it was kind of advertised as Warsaw landmark but what else to expect when political transformation that took place 1989/1990 failed in several aspects. Not hating but Germans did a marvelous job at taking care of any memorable landmarks in Warsaw... if you are bored you can search on youtube. There are few movies on yt with pre-WW2 Warsaw in color. It has more impact on what was lost compared to watching black and white materials... It is such a shame that all of that was lost with only tiny bit of Old Town as awesome but also bitter reminder...
