In dune terms, Bran is the other memory of a reverend mother sort of, whereas tyrion is the personality and will of the reverend mother itself. Bran saying I am not bran anymore means he,(bran the owner of the body) has no real absolute rule between the legion inside him. His words to Jamie strengthens the notion. They together form Leto II, god emperor, in functionality. If bran multitude wishes that is. I believe that's why bran refused winterfell because by rights it was brans, not the multitudes. So he/it didn't have the right to winterfell. But kingship was being appointed regardless of blood, by sort of merit?(yeah, not much but absolutely not by inheritance at least), so he could have the right to become the king, just like anyone (one might even attemp to rationalize including a horse of those lords, as a cynic vote😅), if they were to be selected.

This reminds me of Dumbledore in one of Harry Potter books saying that those who are best to rule are the ones who want it least. That is certainly very true for Jon Snow, and to some extent Tyrion. Tyrion wants to be the man behind the leader because he knows that is where the true power lies. It would be a significant moment if Tyrion does become the one to sit on the iron throne. He never wanted it and no one else has ever considered it, but he would be a great leader. If not to be the king of Westeros, I believe Tyrion will bring peace. Agreed. It just seems silly to have yet another secret Targ - so close to the seat of power too. Also I think that Tyrion IS very much the son of the 'great' Tywin Lannister is kind of important. That he fathered someone with a physical disability- and amazing brain - as well as an all star jock like Jaime- because stuff like that is random and meaningless and how Tywin treated him was appallingly cruel. "Death is so final, whereas life is full of possibilities". That line sums Tyrion up: he is a champion for life in its various forms (the grotesque theme), a champion of a good life (peace, plenty, even vice), a champion of preservation (of his enemies even, as we see in the execution of the Tarlys after the batlle of the loot train), a champion of eslf-preservation (not only by attempting to live, but by always attempting to better himself and to correect his ways after he makes mistakes), a man who would rather not wage war, although he is never afraid to wage it. In a show where the main enemy is death itself (which, as Lord Beric reminds us, always wins), Tyrion is the perspective of the storytellers and their agent in the story, attempting to preserve as much as can be preserved, and to wage this war against death in a manner which fits such a fight.

There is a pretty glaring reason why Tyrion went from being everyone's favorite character in the first 4 seasons to suddenly never having any witty or clever lines and being essentially just another character in the show no smarter than any other. It makes most sense if that's how it ends up. Sansa as queen and Tyrion as the king she Marries. Tyrion is very political in philosophical way (how to protect the kingdom by any means necessary) while Sansa is more of a technical politician (with the people), the one that understands the people's needs more. They complete each other as rulers.

Me too. Have been waiting to see if the show will do the Tyrion is half Targaryan thing for a bit, but the him and Sansa thing became a real possibility in the tomb...we'll see. It wouldn't be the worst placement for him, but I have this nagging idea lingering that the writers may place him in 4he betrayal role. I'm really hoping not. Hoping his look of concern at the end of season 7 when he saw Jon go in to the bed room was not a look of negativity and need to report to Cersei:/ He has not looked too horrified at the negative comments of Dany and Sansa when being told of their disappointment of his lacking judgment in the past few episodes. Maybe because there was no lack. He knew what he was doing all along.....Booo! Hope not. I love the little guy character and want him to have grown as much as it appears. Again. We'll see.

@hildegunnurdahl51305 жыл бұрын
Does it? He'd still be a Lannister and Tywin still acknowledged him as his son at birth/soon after. .. The fact that Tywin might not be Tyrion's father just means that potentially Jaime and Cercei are his half siblings instead of his full siblings (and 3rd cousins?) so they'd all be family regardless. If Tywin knew his wife had been raped (and she actually was) and therefore knew about the possibility that the son his wife died giving birth to might not be his (as is likely) .. then their difficult relationship makes even more sense. So..

I think that one of the more underrated revealing scenes of Tyrion is the one at 11:16 where he reminds Cersei--and the audience--that he loved and cared for his niece and nephews (well, not Joffrey, but definitely he wouldn't have killed the kid, especially because he loves Jamie and that's Jamie's son). It reminds us that Tyrion is harsh when needed but it's never his first option, and especially not when someone contains goodness or innocence, even with Cersei (as he said, "loving [her] children is her only redeeming quality.").

Unless they are going to suddenly and inexplicably abandon the witches' prophecy, the person who replaces Cersei will be a new queen who is "younger and prettier". We haven't heard the prophecy of the Valonghar in the tv series however. And I do believe that the younger prettier queen will indeed be the least likely one. Cercei always thought it would be Margary and later Daenerys, but it will probably be Sansa. It will be poetic justice.

Ok, I have to agree with most of this video except for the Penelope part. Mainly because I recall perfectly that he does not feel the same for Penny that she feels for him. He keeps rejecting her. And Penelope waited for her husband rejecting other suitors and she was known to be very loyal, despite having many suitors for being so beautiful. I feel, RR Martin went more for the parallel of his marriage with Sansa in the books, (maybe a little in the series too since in the series Tyrion has not been with a woman since he left Sansa and in the books Sansa has not accepted any suitor since she got married) Penelope waited for her husband for years until he came back home, so on risk to be unpopular, I believe that parallel of Penelope would fit Sansa. A friend of mine even reminded me that at some point in the book, Penny asks him what he misses from KL and he replies "My wife. The wife I barely knew" So... yeah, I think Sansa would fit more the role of Penelope.

Tyr in old norse does not mean "the god". He is a war god whose worship was largely taken over by worship of Odin. He sacrificed his hand in order to bind Fenris, the largest wolf in the world, who will be released at Ragnarok and will devour Odin, only to be avenged by Vidar the silent. From Tyr comes Tuesday. Tyr MAY be cognate with Dyeus, who may have been the chief deity of the Proto-Indo-Europeans. Pretty big stretch for symbolism for me.

Denaries is incapable of having children, John (Aegon) is a corpse, and Tyrion has seen the fault of absolute power. I think John will be forced to kill Dany- due to her lust for power and entitlement- by plunging his sword in her heart. His sword will then burst into flames, fulfilling the prophecy of Azor Ahai (Melisandre seeing 'only snow' in her flames alludes to this). He will then face the Night King with Longclaw/Light Bringer and defeat him only to be forced to take his place to bring peace to the realm (Fire and Ice). Tyrion will then take charge only to uproot the monarchy in favor of a republic and institute an election process.

I hope all these connections you're making are accurate and Tyrion really does become King, I really do. Because it would mean the show has actually had a plan for these characters from the beginning. But, after tonight's episode and the Night King's death with no explanation of why he existed or what his purpose was despite years of build up with the white walkers from literally episode 1 of season 1....I am starting to get worried the show runners don't have a plan at all. This could end up being the most disappointing show in terms of resolution to have ever been on tv.
@blacksesamecandies5 жыл бұрын
They literally said what his purpose was the episode prior though? Night King wants to snuff out all life, erase man from the planet, doing so by killing Bran (the memory of all man) then they will be nothing without animals without their history/memory. Night King was made by the Children of the Forest (elf things) in a botched ritual to protect themselves from Mankind. Instead they created an Undead Lich who slowly over millennia built up his army of the dead to take over. Children of the Forest want to protect life and nature at all costs, so the literal walking undeath was the antithesis to all they had worked thousands of years to do.
