I don't get what's happening upon 0 HP. You get hurt so badly that you transform into your final form, only to completely break down, fall onto an air mattress and cover up, go back to your normal form with your neck split open and fall into a hole?

In this game, each Battle Beast has an animal form which is more or less harmless to anything except toads, and a robot form that's used for "real" fights. Whenever a fight is lost, there's a character-specific cinematic that shows the robot form collapsing in ruin, then a beat-up animal form falling into the sewer to leave the arena. This particular Battle Beast (Torkuda) has a pretty unique defeat cinematic in the bed popping up--most of them just collapse into damaged junk.
