@ 16:30 Uhh the Saints Row 3 Remaster is such a good remaster actually... Might wanna check your sources a bit more Game Scoopers. Digital oundry literally just put out a video on how impressive of a remaster... Not only are textures way better, but the characters and animations are much cleaner! Check it out Scoopers and let everyone know how much work was put into it compared to most remasters that are coming out lately!

The Dreamcast sold nearly 10 million units in less than 2 years which was pretty good for back then. I had a Videogame store in the UK back in the 90's and one day the official Dreamcast magazine came with a disc that let you play import games - the problem - it let you play copied games without opening your console and voiding your warranty (Like PSONE) I think this was a major cause of the Dreamcast failing. To my point I was selling and part exchanging lots of Dreamcast games and I had about £6000-£8000 worth of games on my shelf. Less than a month after that disc released I barely sold any for months. I couldnt even sell brand new games at a heavy discount.

How I fell in love with video games, being on the older side of life I wasn't exposed to video games until I was a teenager with atari and arcades and even though there was an atari in the house, it was a "family console" and my time with it was limited, by the time the nes came out I was an adult and had other interests as most young men do(girls, sports, fast cars & motorcycles), my youngest brother exposed me to nes but I didn't buy a system(snes) until I married my first wife and she absolutely loved playing it, several years later I lost my wife and I was having a hard time dealing with the loss and felt like I was losing my mind, I needed a distraction and bought another snes to help distract me and occupy my time, I've been playing regularly now for the last 25 years.

That Saints Row remaster is standard setting and one of the best of the generation, it's almost a remake in some regards. The effort the developers went to in updating it is insane. At the very least watch the Digital Foundry analysis for some actual insight. I'm not just repeating this either, it looks great and even some of the smaller changes (on a long list of changes) are game changers. There's no reason it should be as good as it is.
@ryan0111934 жыл бұрын
I was hoping that someone in the comments mentioned the Digital Foundry analysis of Saint Row The Third Remastered. I watched Ryan's IGN review and thought it had been a standard port with not much effort but you watch the DF analysis and the game has clearly had a lot of effort poured into it. I looked at the price on PlayStation Store before watching either videos and just laughed as I thought £35 here in the UK was way too much for a remaster with the normal amount of effort, the DF video shows why they are asking a premium for it.
@stuartbagley25864 жыл бұрын
I think Ryan made the mistake of comparing it to remakes like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy VII rather than The Bioshock Collection or The Last of Us.
@jean-lucpicard29144 жыл бұрын
@@ryan011193 I'm not trying to oversell the game either. I'm not an avid Saints Row fan, at least at this time (this remaster is tempting though). I'm sure aspects of the core gameplay are very much antiquated but I wouldn't know - and maybe there are stylistic changes that would be a deterrent for some. It doesn't change the fact that it's somewhat unprecedented for a remaster to make so many extensive upgrades to rendering or to rework assets on such a large scale.

I fell in love with video games on Christmas Eve 1978 when my parents gave me a Coleco Marksman pong clone. I was 8 and had never seen anything like it. I didn’t even ask for it but I discovered later dad wanted it to introduce me to guns rather than a BB gun. They were saying I’d shoot my eye out long before A Christmas Story.

I know I'm pretty late to the party, but Avril Lavigne's "Complicated" reminds me of Lost Kingdoms on GCN. My brother and I were in the bonus room playing games, and we had that song playing. We wanted to here it again, so he put repeat on; but got a phone call from the gf before the song stopped. I played Lost Kingdoms for 4 hours with that song on repeat before I realized he was still gone and the song was still playing. That's the only one I can think of, though, because I often play games in total silence. For one reason or another, even though I love video game soundtracks, I would end up just playing the game without sound (and without anything to fill the void). It's actually been quite useful to me now that I have small kids on either side of the game room.

I thought the Sonic movie was fun, as someone who was cautiously optimistic, I ended up really enjoying it. Now it doesn’t stray too far from the standard conventions of CG/live action hybrid films. But Sonic was good, Jim Carey as Robotnik was crazy fun, the action sequences were cool and it set up a good foundation for a sequel that will hopefully dive deeper into the game material.
