The magazine was right, back at the time Resident evil code veronica was planned as RE3, and Nemesis was a spinoff, but they decided to change it for marketing reasons. Capcom planned Resident Evil as a Sega franchise. They launched the first one first on Sega Saturn (because they weren't sure about PlayStation future), but as it became a huge success they focused the 2nd one on PS1. When they weren't able to port the 2nd one to Saturn they promised Sega to launch the 3rd one on their next console.

Was going to say the same thing about Code Veronica! Also Sam's claim that "every other game in the series" is better than RE7...he has some bad takes/assumptions, but that one was pretty bad. It was well received as one of the better titles in the series, basically saved the series...again, and there's definitely worse in the series.

Agreed with Daemon on Hades 2. Will be hard to surpass the original without a large new gameplay mechanic or twist. Something impactful, not a small tweak. lol and new characters and non-placeholder art is table stakes, not sure why Nick was pushing on this point

Nick, what build did you use for Shadow of the Erdtree? My experience, as well as most that I've seen is that Gaius was definitely on the easier half of the DLC bosses. He's definitely more of a 'traditional' souls like boss, unlike the much more relentless bosses that make up much of the DLC.
