Just want to comment on the beginning, Mecury Steam didnt set out to reboot castlevania, they were working on a game that was Lords of Shadow, Konami made them turn it into a Castlevania game.

I loved this game and the sequel the story is very intresting no loose ends in the end and everything concludes nicely, amazing voice actors too, dont know why people hate it, it was also very hard and took long to finish

***** It is Castlevania indeed, and I love Lords of Shadows and even the Mirror of Fate HD version on the PC was a blast for me. You should really realize that its the year 2015 and not 1990. Games like Symphony of the Night wont be anymore, neither Super Metroid. There is no demand of games like that except a very few nostalgic people like me or you. Thats why Axiom Verge is not popular, and thats why Bloodstained Ritual of the Night wont be popular once its done. I had a blast playing these games in the past but hey, it's time to move on. Lords of Shadow is a fantastic game.

I've noticed that the entire Lords of Shadow series has its own "Wilhelm Scream". It's in the boss fight with the Crow Witch, when you guide her to crash against the tower. It's mid-fall in the boss fight with Carmilla, when she's flying, you're hugging her leg, and she kicks you off. It's in the boss fight with Satan, while you are both fist-fighting in mid-air. And that's only this game. I've heard two of them in this video. I wouldn't consider it a sin though. I think the Belmont scream is hilarious.

The only thing I didn't like about this game was you weren't free to roam. Other than that, it's a very good game with great voice acting & beautiful animations. And that two minute cut scene of the rock titan coming to life is one of the most memorable moments in the entire game. Part 2 might have improved on allowing you freedom to explore, but it just didn't have the same magic as the first game. Does anyone else agree?

The devoper didn't say "fuck it reboot" they initially wanted to make their own game, but then Kojima came along and suggested putting Castlevania in there, probably for marketing reasons. So it's not the wests' fault.

same as you, i liked it. shame he skipped the DLC with the TRUE final boss. that was the ending the game needed, not that gimmicky satan boss. took me three uninterrupted hours to beat the final DLC boss.

+Dartigan ... normally I tend to defend you, but here's one for you. In #12, "no way in hell can you lift a pole that big all on your own"... Sure you can, if you use proper technique. If you want, search Wikipedia for "Caber toss", which is the Scottish term for "pick up *and throw* a TELEPHONE POLE" (19 feet 6 inches long, and about 175 pounds.) EDIT: Is it just me, or does the lady with the Hairway to Heaven (sorry, couldn't resist the pun... "The higher the hair, the closer to God", or so they say) at 11:22 sound almost exactly like the voice actress of the Red Queen in the Resident Evil movie? Sin #107: "We are not so different, you and I"... Gabriel begs to differ. There are *many* differences. And two of those differences are just one wardrobe malfunction away from popping out to say "hello". Related to sin #129: What do you get if you put Patrick Stewart and Brian Blessed in the same room? HAM TO HAM COMBAT, of course! (Alternately, you can substitute one of them with William Shatner if you like.) Also related to sin #134: I really hope the developers were nice enough to at least provide a glass of wine to wash down all that scenery he just chewed.

Game Sins Sins: -From all Reports ( and the fact he set up with Sony in less then 10 days, like it was planned out and he was just waiting to finalize) Kojima Quit -Climbable bosses actually made an apperance in previous castlevania games. -Gandolfi is actually a character mentioned several times in the pre-reboot and appears as a merchant in one of the PS2 3D games. He's the creator of the Vampire killer. -She knew she was destined to die at his hand so she made it easy. -Because God, even in the traditional Jedeo-christian sense IS NOT able to control all things. -Eagle is Pan also Bald eagles have been seen in Europe during breeding season...and Pan gets lonely...Don't look at Pan like that -Several Castlevania games actually don't take place in the demon castle or aren't mainly set in a castle setting( 2, 3, OoE to name ones off the top of my head) -Backstory given on Carmilla explains why they'd settle down there, Also it'd be pretty hard to move...ANYWHERE in those times withou a kickass bald eagle. -Zobek doesn't know it's Holy Water or is being Coy and going directly off the legend which may have mistaken the holy water's effect as that of the the sun's, it's oral traditions that garble the message kind of like playing telephone but with a story. -Ian Mckellan was originally up for the role of Zobek so probably not. -Her hair is 3 times longer than she is taller...benfit of being 8 years old for 100s of years with a woman with maternal instincts. -Fredrich is not Victor, much like his mechanical monster isn't Adam. -It's magic dress...notice how it changes when she changes. -On the 2nd "We are one and the same" Sin, a fallen brotherhood member who is being played LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE! by god and satan. -Not Heaven, but the next best thing PURGATORY WHERE YOU GET TO DO NOTHING ALL DAY! -Satan likes the jokes like that. -Yeah Satan does get his ass beat. Oh and if you do play the DLC you get "but enough talk have at you"

The reason the swamp is a pace killer is that there parts you have to wade through, and bubbles indicate nymphs will reach their emaciated slimy arms will try to drag you down. Though the bubbles blink in and out there is no way to properly time it and they WILL grab you and quick time event you constantly.

Remember when this game took place in Transilvania, România? Or when Vlad Țepeş (Dracula) was the main antagonist? (Also Castlevania, the castle of Vlad isn't alike in barely any detail to the Bran castle) Or when Belmont didn't based so much with the pagan elements? Also, foreign accents and not a single of them Romanian, or even add a detail about Vlad impaling his enemies. As a native Romanian, I feel this game is 10× more Bram Stocker BS than the original history, making it kinda offensive. Not even the trip to Romania from the NES Castlevania could even save this. *6× ding*

I can't believe how disappointing this game was. My first jump back into some Castlevania since the 80s, I trusted all the praises on Steam, and I couldn't get through it. I think somewhere around the 3rd chapter, I'd had enough of this boring, stupid locked camera, QTE crap. It doesn't feel like Castlevania anymore, just a generic beat-em-up with long-winded, sleep-inducing cutscenes, and a stupid camera that forces you to run towards your seating position on the couch at times, so you can't even see what you're about to run into. How hard is it to allow the camera to swing behind your character instead of having to play from a 2nd person perspective?! Sux!

That makes sense. They should not have associated this game with the Castlevania franchise. I think that hurt more than it helped. I would have loved to see actual Castlevania developed into a title with a bit more depth to the story, and maybe something with gameplay more like Dishonored, maybe. I didn't care for that game either, but the game was fairly well made and the gameplay was more akin to what I'd want to see in a next gen Castlevania. Maybe if it were 1/3 as long, and the camera had different options, I may have stuck with it.

rub ber I'm not sure what to address here, that Far Cry 4: Hollow Aping of 3 Boogaloo is really the bigger deal here, that regardless of what Uncharted did to gaming (for good or ill) the way levels were clearly made before the writers figured out how they'd fit together alone makes those games worth Sinning, or that Dartigan hasn't Sinned Last of Us yet.

Honestly you don't need the DLC to know why he's THE True Lord of Shadow Dracula. He took the speed of Cornell, the flight of Carmilla and the Immortality of the Litch Zolbek. Those 3 combined were needed to defeat the 3 Lords of Shadow, and much as this game eluded, to defeat evil, one must become evil, or fight monsters long enough and become a monster yourself. The powers of the 3 Lords of Shadow corrupted his being and turned him into a monster, Dracula. The DLC is honestly bullshit, seriously watch and roll your eyes. This game imo is amazing and give it a 8.5 out of 10 almost enjoying every second of it. Good job at the reboot tbh

Lauren Carroll no prob, hope you enjoy the stand alone game ^_^ PS if you would like my opinion once more, the second game is shit. The first one did it almost perfect, there is no need for a sequel. I guess Vampires are still popular and the company figured they'd let us play as Gabriel Dracula.....oh ouuups, where would the game be if you WERE at full power? Nahh let's make you restart and have nothing :P If you loved this game, check out Shadow of the Colossus, Dante's Inferno, and Demon's Souls. Another tip, don't just buy a game out of hype, wait till other people buy it and check out multiple reviews BUT NOT FROM GAME COMPANIES! Try and find some on youtube that are not popular or from places like IGM, or Sony, or gaming owned channels lol. Like they'll diss their own new game lol.

Percival917 Not really, releasing something only on a handheld device is more retarded: it works the other way around because if you design something to a big ass console or PC a small penis-sized handheld device won't be able to run it but yep, a console or a PC will run that handheld shit with tamagotchi graphics like a dream. Personally, I don't like handhelds and I hate the Nintendo DS and the Gameboy: the screen is small, games look ugly as fuck and it's just not a comfortable experience to mess around with phone-sized gaming devices. I want to sit behind my big ass TV or monitor, turn up the volume on my big ass speakers, grab the controller, lay back and enjoy the game I bought without any setbacks... you know, like Symphony of the Night. So I'm sure the Sorrow games, Order of Ecclesia and whatnot are great but I won't play them if I hate the platform they're on because I won't own the platform. Let's hope Iga won't fuck up Bloodstained.
