An oversight I’ve seen on two separate takes on this: Cassie summons the green energy when they are in Outworld before meeting Kotal Kahn, but when it happens against Shinnok it comes as a complete surprise. (Also, Sonya’s hate boner for Kano comes from a bunch of Special Forces getting betrayed by Kano, which Sonya said happened pre-MK9)

By this game's story, it became quite clear to most fans of Mortal Kombat that Netherealm was just making things up as they went along, without bothering to check back to see if the new stuff they put in fits at all with the previous games. (Spoilers: no they don't) Got to see you sin MK11 next so we can wrap up the inconsistent "reboot" trilogy.

Mortal Kombat is probably one of my favorite franchises of all time for many reasons. And it's story mode is NOT one of them, how can they get everything else right, but a cohesive plot with elements that don't feel like they're making it up as they go along is just beyond NRS. At least Injustice story telling is alright, but that's probably because it's based on DC which has an established universe with consistent themes and ideas.

Something I noticed with what Li Mei said at 11:46 is that the amulet didn't wipe out an entire battalion. It wiped out three dudes and pushed back Kotal. And given the damage that one action did to Mileena's forearm and the fact she was perfectly fine up to that point, I think it's fair to say she hadn't used it in this battle prior to that scene. Are they even trying with this dialogue?

11 Aftermath makes them keeping Quan Chi alive make even less sense due to how they end up reviving Sindel. They literally could've revived every other revenant in the same way they did Sindel in that game but instead insisted on relying on keeping Quan Chi alive to I guess kick him in the nuts again.

Another good video, but there's a few small corrections 19:50 that was never a rule regarding Takeda's teleptahy 23:39 Sektor's organic brain was used for his cyborg body, so the system had all his memories 26:06 if you pay attention Raiden mentions that Lui Kang and Kung Lao have to go after the second boat while he heads to the tournament, so baraka headed to Shao Khan's palace right after 27:03 you still need to use a mystical portal to get there by walking...

A lot of unexplained things in MKX's story mode are explained in the comics, the build up of Johnny and Sonya's relationship as well as the decline, the pre-outworld war, Kenshi's involvement, Takeda's past, Hanzo taming Scorpion, Sub-zero becoming human and regaining the Lin Kuei, Goro's involvement, etc. The comics do sure help MKX's story, like, for a mile.

To be fair, Sonya's hard-on for Kano is two-fold; - He Kaiser Soze'd her hardcore and fed them false info that only led to the capture of small-time Black Dragon yet to several of her colleagues' deaths. - She was woo'd by his charm and it's kinda implied she was developing the hots for him and believed his "reformation" was true until he escapes and reveals himself as the Black Dragon daddy. A woman scorned is a hell of a thing.

it's been a very common plot line since mortal Kombat mythologies and mortal Kombat 4, Quan Chi was responsible for Scorpion turning into what he is. That would make sense, that once they defeat Quan Chi he's going to revert back to a human. you can even stretch it as to say that he is still alive because he was killed due to Quan Chi. but that is a little bit of a stretch. your sin count is garbage, though it is kind of funny

Am I the only one that didnt catch that Kung jin was gay? I mean I did not really care about him to begin with so I likely wasn't paying attention, but I honestly didn't catch that. Frankly of those in the young justice league the only ones I like are Jacqui and Takeda. But Erron Black and D'vorah are by far the best additions, but unfortunately it appears that in order to carry them over into 11 we had to drop Quan Chi and Ermac....I am not satisficed with this trade.
