One thing that really annoyed me in MK11 is they ruined a perfectly acceptable character: Kotal Khan. They introduce a character with a cool design, good moveset, and decent resume by killing Goro. It almost felt like once NRS brought Shao Khan back, they didn't know what to do with Kotal, so they had him be inept just to have players hate him and get him out of the story.

PREACH. Look, and this is a true story, I bought MKX solely because of Kotal Kahn, he looked like my old Tekken main Ancient Ogre. Even though I was hesitant about MK11 at first, I bought it JUST because I still love Kotal Kahn and wanted to play an 'upgraded' version of him. I don't love MK11, I love using Kotal Kahn. I followed Kotal's story from the beginning of the comics, to MK11 Aftermath, and I know that he went from powerful fighter to everyone's bitch and jobber. It is so fucking laughable, I solely love him for how he looks, talks, and his story in the comics, but other than that, it fucking sucks and you only feel bad for him

This matter is not valid construction material unless reverted to it's former solid state. If one could unexplode the rocks, then they could probably uncrush a person caught im the area of rewind effect.

quick correction: Shinnok didn't die in the original timeline, the one from Armageddon was an imposter controlled by the real Shinnok. also, you said no one questioned Raiden's changed in attire/wearing Shinnok's amulet, but Johnny comments on that in the very next scene and Kotal acknowledges it later on when talking to past Raiden; i noticed you conveniently cut those portions of the dialogues, so i thought i'd point that out here.

The story is a mess and, sometimes, infuriating. This said, I still prefer MK 11 plot to MK X. Also, call me an idealist but I still have faith in a better story for MK someday, when they stop with the Hollywood, super-hero crap they're pulling since MK X. There must be some big changes to how the story is told as well. In short, plenty of things to improve and alter, but a girl can hope! x)

@@Kentrc11 I haven't played Aftermath, so I cannot say what happens story-wise, but my hope is that NRS will realise that it's much better to create small-scale, "standalone" stories than trying to build those battle of epic scales that more often than not get too convoluted. To be fair the game technically gives an explanation how "current" Raiden can know things he haven't experienced yet: by Raiden's own claim Elder Gods exist "outside the timestream" (or something like that), which is also supposedly the reason why "evil Raiden" disappeared when "current Raiden" appeared... of course - with that being the case - one must wonder the validity of Kronika's plot even more and how come that only comes into play when it's convinient. Time travel stories normally suck because they're contrived and/or make no sense... I don't think I can name more than a handful that actually worked, but this one is quite annoying and the Aftermath DLC sinks even lower... which is kind impressive given that it's storyline is only about half as long ^^'

About the whole raiden used the amulet to trap shinnok he hadn't had much exposure to it then but in mk 11 it is presumed he had been holding onto it causing him to slowly be tempted by it

That's why MK should NEVER have a story mode in this cinematic/chapter way. Konquest mode revolving one/two characters with the main story line revolving around the theme of particular game. And the rest of story should be shown with the characters bios' and endings. As simple as that.

Liu Kang and kung lao had no business being villains. they weren't even the main villains, turning them into bad guys was pointless. just like Raiden being played up as "Dark Raiden" and nothing coming of it. Liu Kang and Kung Lao should've survived MK9 and went rogue to protect earthrealm. they should've been tearing up outworld as a preemptive strike, and Raiden tries to stop them to "keep the balance" or whatever. kronika shouldn't even exist. alot of characters were fucked over, but the Shaolin Simps got it worse. hopefully they return them to how they were in MKX

The fact he mentiones there are multiple reboots... while in fact there is only 1 cannon reboot... makes me think he is not a fan of the series to begin with ... and yes, they try to write as best as possible, while realizing the plot is ridicioulus.... Aside from blandly reading the script, some points stands of course

The reason Kotal Kahn told Past Raiden that he joined Earthrealm against Shinnok is because he was afraid of what Raiden is capable of and what he'd do if he found out that Kotal fought AGAINST Earthrealm.

Liu Kang as a God is a mix of Raiden,Revenant Liu Kang,and past Liu Kang so yes he is powerful in the Nether Realm because of Revenant Liu Kang
