First, their are no separate dimensions...except the regular dimension and shiny dimension and shiny giratinas dimension and giratinas dimension. For right now i'll tell you how this works. It's Arceus restarting the universe. Yeah, so Arceus restarts the universe every time almost every time a remake comes out.The exceptions to this are Black 2 and White 2. So the thing is about the machine makes space holes is that, the machine doesn't make space holes it makes space/time holes. Confusing, right? Well let me put it this way, they are going to send an asteroid back in time and accidentally destroy the world. Oh, and I have an explanation for Mega Evolution too. Megas were not discovered until Diancie was found 'cause Diancie makes mega stones. The only people who know how this works before it was publicly announced in X and Y are Mr. Fuji, Red, Oak and that girl with Mr. Fuji you see near the end of ORIGINS. Link cables work the same way but with time and space. And that is pretty much it.

What's funny is that your theory has been completely proven true with the new Ultra Moon and Sun games. xD SPOILERS Ultra Wormholes connect different realities and through them some new pokemon, (and in the Ultra versions a different species of humanity) come through. And through the Ultra Wormholes, your game connects with ALL different editions (Ruby, Sapphire, Black, etc). From there, Giovanni comes through wanting to rule over all dimensions. He teams up with the villains from every game, villains who have all won in their respective realities. For example, the villain from Sapphire created a world of only sea, Ruby's created a world of only earth, etc. The HERO, you, was never born in those dimensions and thus they all won. So, yeah: you're completely right. :D

Ironicly, I thought that if they did use the Link Cable to warp the Meteorite, That same one would go to the spinoff Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue team world, where the world was threaten by Natural Disasters because of a Meteorite on a course for the planet, large enough to destroy all the Pokemon there. Well, the meteor thing is... Actually pretty believable, but the part about being turned into a Pokemon for a wrong choice is able to be disproved simply by playing the game. Gardevoir says in-game that the reason you were turned into a Pokemon was because you fit the qualifications of being a hero and saving their world.

Every time Ash and his friends explore a new region, they are actually all being explored at the same time by several Ash's on different planets/dimensions. This theory is definitely correct. In Pokèmon Sun and Moon, you can use a worm hole to travel to another dimension. If you have Sun, you travel to the world of Pokėmon Moon, and for Moon you go to Sun!

Not quite. The Pokemon exclusive to the other game still can't be caught if you pass through the wormhole. I suppose that's because it would negate the need to trade with people. It still puts your theory into question though especially since the wormhole changes the in game time with respect to real world time so the two worlds are effectively the same without the real world to compare it to.

There is only one problem with that. Zangoose and Seviper. If this theory was to 100% correct only one of these would exist in their given dimension. But their pokedex entries mention in every game that they have a feud against each other that can be observed in wildlife. So either Zangoose and Seviper are very big excaptions from this theory or the theory (or at least that part of it) isnt quite right.

You are correct though, the multiple dimensions have been around for a long time and can technically be traced further back than your Sinnoh reference all the way to the event mews. Mew had to be entered into the "universe" from special versions where mew was filling every PC. Also just for the come at me haters thing... You're clearly nothing but a Sinnoh fan boy who wanted to artificially insert gen 4 into this video despite the theory being based on mega evolutions and more specifically gen 3. You also used evidence from a completely different canon, so it's basically invalid. Also everyone else in this comment line brought up a genuine response to the OP's comment while you mentioned your own idea which could be it's own thread. Also Adam Carlson his theory is the implied lore while it could be a universe of Sun where the time of day is differnet, everything is closed, and Cosmog goes undiscovered. And for Maank, trainers in each game have the opposing exclusive so in theory they could display hostile natures towards each other after being bred or in the daycare. That way even if "wild" is specified it could be a released Seviper/Zangoose that originally existed in universe through an NPC trainer, and the dex could be updated in universe (Not an IRL update like how entries change go to game but a canon edit before the game starts (also I don't want to imply you don't understand what I mean I just want to cover all bases.)) so that the rivalry is mentioned.

I've been held captive by the recent pokemon craze and I just wanted retread the glory that is MattPatt's glorious pokemon videos. For example: *spoilers* If you beat Alpha Sapphire for the 3DS, there is an "afterstory" about Zillia (I think her name is) where she destroys a device to save Hoenn from the meteor that's about to hit. Okay... I'm gonna fix this once and for all. A dimension is a directional axis along a plane, such as the X and Y co-ordinates on a map. It's a form of *measurement*, NOT a "parallel universe". The correct term for parallel universe is... *Parallel universe*. It doesn't need a synonym. Yes, it is possible there are more dimensions than we have so far observed, and those other dimensions could be a way into different spacial regions. This does not mean dimensions are, themselves, places. You can't "go to" a dimension, or be inside one. We are not IN the third dimension, anymore than we are "in" the dimension of centimetres. We are simply measurable along three dimensional axis. (Four if you want to get non-Euclidean). Any different environments that travel along a new dimension could grant us, if such a thing were even possible, would NOT be the same thing as going to a parallel universe. (And while we're on the topic... different timelines and parallel universes - not the same thing. And I'm not even going to touch the Schroedinger's cat you butchered...) And as for the Many Worlds theory, that's about quantum decoherence, not new agey bullshit about choices making entire universes spring out of the Ether. You know the theory really is more on the true side when ultra sun and moon came out, with all the villains coming from different dimensions and timelines during the rainbow rocket events, it really all does make sense in a way that each game reallynis its own dimension with slightly different outcomes or plot points

I can't believe this is correct. In the newest installment of the game, Ultra sun and Ultra moon, this theory is confirmed. It takes place in an alternate universe than the previous installment, Sun and Moon. Also, in the game, you can use the legendary pokemon Solgaleo or Lunala in order to travel through ultra space and you can travel to other dimensions to catch pokemon from other regions, including legendary pokemon. This is further proven when the post game, the rainbow rocket episode, is completed. Each villain is from a universe where they captured their own respective legendary pokemon and achieved their goal, for example, Lysandre activating the ultimate weapon, Maxie creating a planet with out oceans etc.

No, they say that in mystery dungeon Humans are myths and things of legends, and that the human that turns into the pokemon (you) always somehow fall from the human world into the pokemon world. They're mentioned but they aren't in the same sort of dimension. Like in Super Mystery Dungeon, they specifically say that Mew had taken you to the pokemon world from the human world on at LEAST two different occations, but you're unable to remember until maybe at the end (haven't played til the epilogue yet)

MatPat, I love your videos - but your understanding of Schrodinger's Cat leaves a bit to be desired. It does not relate to every system with two possible outcomes. It only relates to things with two outcomes on a quantum level. Schrondinger's Cat is about a poison tied to a molecule with a half life of lets say 10 minutes. Thus in 10 minutes there is a 50% chance of that molecule still existing. It is not just about "faulty wiring" or a poison the cat may or may not open and kill itself with. This fundamental difference is HUGE in the quantum world and its misinforming to imply that Schrodinger's Cat is about ANYTHING with two possible outcomes. Multiverse does not state that every possible outcome will occur, and it does not spawn alternate universes in a "tree branch structure." Its a bit more weird than that - both outcomes exist simultaneously until observed, at which the two universes collapse to form one universe with the observed outcome. Thus, only one real universe exists, but BOTH exist until observed. I know he likely won't read this but this is not the first time he has shared this incorrect (and unfortuntately, widespread) notion of what multiverse theory is.

To be fair, most people misunderstand Schrodinger's Cat. Probably the example (the cat) is not clear enough, and something more clear (like explaining using a molecule) would bore most people. So they spread around the faulty explanation until it becomes the only version most people have heard and that perpetuates the misunderstanding.

You make some excellent points. While it would be nice if the facts in the video were not misrepresentations of the true theories, but perhaps Mat Pat's logic could still be applied to video games, because it does make sense. Instead of classifying it as the Multiverse Theory (or whatever it's called), he could make the same claims only by clarifying that they are personal adaptations to the original theories posed by actual physicists. As far as talking about the cat as though it were a skitty trapped inside a malfunctioning pokeball, I really believe his intention was to simplify the theory for his audience, because that is really what all his videos are about.

It actually proves there are almost infinite realities that are almost the exact same as the one you play in, but small events change that reality in massive, and in some cases, horrific, ways. Not only that, but certain groups (such as the Devon Corp and a group from SM/USUM) have the technology to go between these realities and alternate universes.
