Man, being a pilot in a Gears game is basically a death sentence. Less than two minutes in and that pilot in the beginning was gone. I was amazed that Tak wasn't shot down at some point. Has there EVER been an instance in GOW lore where an aircraft gets shot down and the pilot DIDN'T die? Genuine question.

I'm liking the touches they made in bringing in parts of Hoffman's backstory. At 8:42 you can see a picture on the desk of Bernie (I'm guessing since she's not here with him she's deceased :( ) and Tak must be family of Bai Tak

Yeah I saw that too. Really liking the extra bit of world building they're adding to the lore to. We didn't really get much of an idea of how alien Seran animals were or some of the cultures save a few comics until Gears 4. Much as I feel Gears 6 should end the main story I'd still like to see a prequel comic on how Myrah built the Locust into what they were in less than a 100 years.

Fun fact: Uncle Donny from that story at the beginning??? He's really Mac's biological father and everyone knew it. Uncle Donny had an affair with Mac's mother and everyone could tell that Mac was really his son. However, he just continued as Uncle Donny and had his brother be Mac's father despite how obvious it was.

Hoffman has always been a true soldier. He makes tough decisions, but he also has a heart. He was the only one who cared about the Pesanga troops during the first war. He also did everything to break Chairman Prescott and to find out his secrets. If anything, hoffman is used to working under cog Chairmen, who don't understand anything except total control.

The Outsiders are basically anyone who refused to join the new COG. As seen in the Hivebusters comic series, he lived in Bravelle. Which ended up being Scorpio's next target after taking down the island's Hive which was successful by the way. They both were. Unfortunately Hana hoped that taking down a Hive would take down all of the Swarm connected to it. Scorpio learned after Bravelle that it didn't.

I liked the early Gears games because they were arguably more on the action-horror side. The iconic game commercials and the mystery behind the creatures were awesome, I wanted to know everything & anything about the locust swarm. Unfortunately, this far into the franchise, it doesn’t look like lore is going to be a big focus. It’s too bad because I always thought there was so much potential to further explore the locust / swarm origins and workings. I still think they’re fun games, but so little is illuminated that it’s hard for me to really see past the general gameplay.

This game really ruined it for me when they decided to go with the “Locust have a hive mind/central intelligence” thing since it goes so hard against everything that the locust were in the original trilogy. If you were a hive mind of any kind, what would be the point of things like culture, and religion? There wouldn’t be one, but they clearly had those, as well as defined personalities. All things that wouldn’t happen with any kind of hive mind or centralized intelligence.

@@jeffy1862 i mean that was an original thing from them, i discovered that years before Gears 5 using Epic's notes and some comic information. Myrrah always had mind control, you can even see it in Raam's DLC from Gears3. That hive mind was something normal in Locust, but all of them were more "free" than bugs, something very different from the Swarm who act like ants, so the only problem about the actual Gears is that we dont even know how the Swarm was born. My theory is that they came from one of the three Worms from the Locust Religion, one of those Worms was used to make the Sires and then they evolved to Locust thanks to humans, but when something came directly from that worm (naturally) its a Swarm and thats why the Snatchers make Juvies only using humans, a natural process instead of the hard process of the humans making Sires.
