Hitting top 500 in single ranked made me realize, this game has a huge problem. When you get mid B to A rank, everyone is only using characters that possess 4 bars of health. It’s actually quite annoying considering most people simply abuse any technique that involves boosting a characters Ki to max instantly. After doing this, most people simply rush you down until they get a single knock back, or Ki blast barrage hit, and then ult. It’s rather annoying considering there’s so much to do when fighting with this lovely combat system, and so many characters to play with. Other than that, the game is absolutely lovely. Just wish higher ranked play was well, higher ranked play. Because, C and D ranks fight better than B and A.

The AI is BS. I seriously think auto blocking auto dodging and z-countering your every move is BS on a normal difficulty. It feels like im playing on Nightmare mode in hell despite it being "normal" difficulty. I dont want input read hell. I want AI that engages with me instead of just waiting for me to attack and handing my ass to me no matter what i do it firces a single play style that even then DOES NOT WORK A brick wall is more engaging at that point But of course younger players and folks are just gonna place the famous assinign retort. They have no personality outside of charge, spam beam, and stand still waiting for you to attack just to counter n hit you wit a 14-20 piece combo smh. I know the combos and how to extend them aside from the differences in some of the extenders the vanish and especially Z-counter windows are massively better. Its loads easier to perform. The issue that i have is that im being forced too sweat on a lower difficulty because the game input reads my every move. That shit is expected on hard difficulties not normal or lower as people have been saying the AI is over tuned and i agree with it. Especially in the episode battles. Its ridiculous. I may as well have it on the hard modes cause frankly it does feel any different regardless of difficulty setting. So hearing the "skill issue" retort is pretty retarded in my opinion when newer players to the series arent even going to stand a hair balls chance in seeing the later content because of this brick wall called input reading.

I just find it ridiculous how the AI spams one move or sits there are blocks counters and vanishes everything you do. It forces you into a set playstyle. And despite there being "lower" difficulties it honestly does not feel any different between normal and hard.

I played the game for about 4 ish hours and I am very disapointed. The game is fine, the graphics are gorgeous and I like the 'what if' system. The biggest problem I have is that it is not a very good tenkaichi game in my opinion. The camera is a bit too far back, the hits don't feel as impactful as they should and I lose sight of my opponent very easily when they are a little too far. The worst part is that I know why all these issues exist. It's because the devs wanted to cater to the online play and the more competitive scene and players like you like 6 different counters for some reason and they pretty much all do the same thing. it's not like in fighterz where each counter only works with specific attacks. I digress though, this game is just not for me and I'm sad for it.

Okay if I’m being honest…it feels like there should be another mode. If anyone played the originals you know the ultimate modes were legit some of the most fun. They also were secretive about all the playable modes only to have just the regular modes we knew about already.

The game honestly could have used another year in the oven. I'm enjoying it but overall, the presentation from the story mode to many of the UIs and menus feel very slapdash and beta level; the World Tournament mode's in particular is atrocious; not an iota of soul. Then there's the ridiculous AI... the CPU shouldn't be dodging all my attacks at point blank range and casually blocking, parrying and negating most of my offense on even the lowest difficulty. Not to mention that when my attacks DO land it feels as if they barely grazed my opponent. The combat is sorely lacking in the impact department. The game, for all it has to offer, feels incomplete and still requires much polish.

I only played this game for a hour yesterday, so I can’t fully speak, but I did notice deep mechanics in the training mode. Could it just be that you don’t know all the mechanics as of yet, and because of that, it’s harder to break their block, make them run out of ki, etc? I just think this game definitely has a big learning curve. I mean the amount of counters, blocks, etc I saw yesterday of playing it, made me wanna play it another day instead of late that night haha.

Sparking Zero feels like a BETA version. This game does not feels like it could’ve been, although it’s fun to play and all of that but BT3 felt like a complete experience, from the UI and menus thru the fighting mechanics, story and scenes . Every aspect of the game came to life with his own touch and uniqueness And on top of that the theme and the design overall ofc was great Hope that they will make some patches in the future that will really give us that experience that we all want.

​@duke45fan so definitely more cutscenes and less PowerPoint slides. Bring back the Narrator especially since he just passed. It would be the best way to honor his impact with Dragonball. Give us the rock music from the Dragonball z show in the 90s in addition to the new ones(more tracks basically). And have more voice acting for all the characters! If they really want us to focus on creating what if and custom episodes, they need to allow us to us a lot of the lines that the used for all the characters in the series. So why not allow players to have additional access to the audio voices from Xenoverse 2(for example) Dragonball Kakarot, or Fighterz outside of the custom skits that we can make? Right now it's as if we would be reading a Manga episode with no voices and random music playing in the background instead of Dragonball music.

No the ai literally reads inputs thats how it was designed. It’s dumb but you can easily break the ai by just not putting in inputs. Like just charging up and the ai shuts off instead of dashing at you for example like a human or good ai would do.

Having a ton of fun, my issues so far: in most online fights, I can't switch characters. Game does not really support UW monitors (black bars on the sides). No planet destruction cutscenes/stage change like in older Budokai/Tenkaichi games. Slideshow story mode while the first Budokai had fully animated 3D scenes through the whole game, in 2002 !! Having to pay 30€ for the iconic OST when you already paid 110€ for the full game is a complete scam. When in an online room with 4 players, there can only be one fight at a time, 2 players have to watch while they could logically also have their own fight at the same time. I hope this all improves in the future, but the game is still a lot of fun and the "what if" scenarios are awesome.

I couldn't get into it. Combat felt so clunky, even went into practise\training thing to try get used to it but it just never clicked. I liked the complexity of the fighting, but it just doesn't feel right. Also these 3d environment db games never sat right with me, I can't keep track of where the opponent is sometimes with all the rocks blocking the view lol. Budokai 3 next to Fighter Z are my fav db games. Also the episode mode felt very tacked on and lazy, I get that it is a pvp focused game but come on it has been like 17 years and this is the best they could do? Fighter Z literally introduced a new character albeit not canon but still a good character that felt right in the db universe, and a whole story surrounding them as well. I expected more from Sparking Zero, being a successor to budokai. I really wanted to like this one, but I just can't. Maybe I will try kakarot, and pray they do a tournament of power dlc lol. Good to hear some db fans are enjoying it at least, it is just not for me.

Weirdly when I played Sparking, I prefer Xenoverse than this. The game feels so clunky, moves don't give that impact I thought it had, no transformations like in BT3, WHy adding frieza soldiers when you could add PIKKON for example and bugs. I was disapointed and felt the game was made without love to the gamers. It's just a cash grab nostalgia believe me! The game feels a 5/10 and being made like this it's no excuse for a 2024 game! My problem is the optimization. I need to wait 2 full minutes to get to the "Press a button to start" window and 2 minutes to get to the menu and it lags so much at the start even though i lowered my settings. The only issues that I'm experiencing with the game on Steam/PC is that I click play/run, it will say "run" but will instantly say "play" and won't bring up the game at all. I'd tried picture-mode on Steam, it does bring up the game but will instantly crash or close the game immediately So, that's what I'm experiencing right now and some others are either the same boat as me or experiencing something else entirely.

I wish that there was a label that told you like, what type of character each one was. You kinda have to use your imagination. The reason being is that every character type has a certain set of rush attack options, and knowing the type helps with combo theory.

A few months ago, I purchased a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop (Intel-i7 14th Gen + RTX 4060). Playing on 2K HDR high settings, it's locked at 60fps and runs smoothly, even in PvP matches, without any input lag or stuttering issues. For anyone experiencing problems on PC, I strongly recommend uninstalling the game, then closing Steam properly from the task manager before reopening and reinstalling the game. This is my personal opinion, so please do what you think is best.

If the difficulty is lowered it doesn’t allow you to get alternate paths, and look at the path you took and whatever it said to get that path it’s normally like the opposite like when fighting frieza you use the spirit bomb but to trigger the alternate path you just need to kill him in any other way, most of the triggers are just defeating someone quickly or in a different order

To anyone having issues on the ps5 overheating and hard shutting off: you’re gonna have to get it professionally cleaned or have your own tools to open up every piece of your ps5 to dust. I was having the same issue and it was only big ps5 games that would hard crash, after the cleaning the problem went away completely, but I have a feeling I’ll have to do it again in a few years

I have no idea if it’s just me but on Xbox it’s painfully difficult to get into an online match right now. In player matches it either says there’s no free slots or you didn’t connect, and in ranked it sometimes feels like you can just stay in queue forever. Really hope this is just a server issue that’ll be fixed because my connection online in general is fine

When picking a character don’t press X or A after each character. Just hover over the one you want then R1 to go to the next slot. Then just keep doing that.

to be 100% honest, I do like this game, but the story mode is unnecessarily hard due to enemies spamming like hell and lowering the difficulty only makes you not able to do certain stuff and nothing else, also some lag spikes mainly on main menu

There are no customizations this is beyond the lack lustrous most Dragon Ball z game there is there is no animation in the campaign after the first saga. There's definitely some minor problems and a couple things I think that they need to add through quality of life updates like Transformations for certain characters like the other Saiyans with tails little goku and I'm not sure why garlic Juniors first form was left out but it definitely needs to be added but outside of that I'm really happy

The story battles at normal difficulty FAR surpass the line between “hard” and “downright broken”. Time will tell, of course, and I am no pro at combat games, but I don’t think the issue is mine here. The AI, at least in those missions, is almost completely unapproachable in hand to hand combat. Hard is one thing, but this…😅

The advance dbz sz players on ps5 should adjust the frame rate to quality mode. Smooths out the highend pace of the game. Allowing you to play with less heating up. Performance mode needs the developers update.

The stuttering is a fact for sure. But the gameplay also has issues, specifically a input delay, is not that much but its definitely there. Hopefully Bandai Namco listens to the feedback and pushes either a hot fix or an update soon.

I play it on the PS5, and I noticed something with the gameplay on story mode. I get my player looking like static or like they are about to disappear, but its not a move but more like a glitch. Along with this, my player will sometimes freeze while in the middle of a combo. I think my controller died, but then it starts acting normal. I think it might be the game forcing me to lose, or its only made to fight till their helth is low, not for me to beat them. I would be hitting buttons but nothing happens yet i can still move around.

Man the damn AI in story mode needs to be nerfed, your penalized for lowering the difficulty and can’t unlock the secret episodes but when playing on regular mode the damn AI basically dog walk you with constant Z counters and Z Vanishing. The input dont always register correctly when trying to counter back as well. Thats the only issue im currently having. They need to tone the AI down in story mode. The amount of time i got stuck on some of these fights was nerve wrecking (great ape vegeta, Ginyu foce) ect..
