1942 when it first released! Favorite maps back then were Battle of Britain for the air combat, Operation Battleaxe for the sniping, and Kursk for tanks. Usually would load up the Secret Weapons expansion when I wanted to do ground combat. Road to Rome was fun as well, especially the Anzio map.

Bf3 and bf4 are both nuts with the graphics. On PC especially. Consoles they are starting to look slightly dated but not to the point of looking “dated” yet.

Battlefield 2 on PC was something. Look at all those classes. This is why when people complain about there not being the classic 4 classes in 2042 I scratch my head. So many BF games had 3-6 different classes. Really wish a LOT of these older maps would make their way to Portal. So many classic experiences. Not everything needs to be 64v64 maps.

Man I played 1942 and all its expansions (still have the disks) more then any other game at the time, for the longest time. I loved the trick my buddy and I used to do on the CTF Maps. Grab a Stuka,...fly over the enemy base, he bails out and grabs the flag, all the while I am swinging around for the pick up. Flying low enough and having him hit the enter button would allow him to jump back into the plane while I was zooming by.

I need to add there was a submarine in BF1942, in Vietnam you could winch up tanks with helis... Bf 2142 had a mode where people had to disable the other team's titan ( a huge ship) before boarding it using individual launch pods while the crew defended the corridors like in the first star wars movie...

Nostalgia alert: I used to play B1942 with my friends in a game room. OK graphics, laughable physics (even for the time), brilliant music. And great fun when played with friends. Same goes for Battlefield Heroes. Ridicoulous, but enjoyable. If it weren't P2W, I might have stuck to it longer.
