STADIA works through the web browser. And keyboards(third parti and exclusive) works without any issue. The reason the tablet doesn't support 4k 120fps on GFN Is because GeForce haven't enable the function, easy. Gamepass, boosteroid, stadia and GFN works all fine.

Shadow isn't available where I live yet (Ireland), but even if it was, I couldn't justify paying a monthly membership fee of £29.99 a month in the UK (about €36.) But then I have the smaller tab S8 Plus and there's a big difference between a 12.4" screen and a 14.6" one. So I guess if you're really into competitive shooters like COD (which I'm definitely not) and, like me, doesn't have the luxury of also owning a gaming desktop or laptop, I think the tab S8 Ultra is a great compromise for gaming while having all the additional features that a premium tablet offers.

I been begging NVIDIA to support these Galaxy Tablets...not even the browser supports it. Shame because Samsung tablets are so close to being laptop replacements.
For me the s9 ultra is. I made the jump and have not looked back.

I've been using parsec to stream games locally from my main desktop with ethernet to an old ThinkPad P70 at just under 4k perfectly fine. Until a faster codec like h.266 comes out or you beef up your network, at least with wireless cloud, its not that do able. Than again, I don't really do cloud gaming, just local streaming. So like others have said, it could be do able. With the resolution alone its a ton of data, and as well as adding 120 FPS, its definitely a lot. I have also heard that others may have a much better time due to being closer to a data center (Xbox game pass). I can do it locally just fine, and that's a good reason to get one if your as lazy as I am.

i’ve tried geforce now 3080 tier on my ipad pro and its working decently, but its a software thing not hardware, being limited to lower resolutions than the screen supports. tried it on my note 20 ultra witch also doesn’t give me 120fps even if the screen has 120. but its not really a problem since i consider playing on a tablet a last-ditch effort. s8 ultra has a great display, should be very nice too. its not worth it only if you consider that it costs as much as a lg oled and a shield pro, which gives you 4k60 and works great.

Samsung Tab S8 definitely not worth it for cloud gaming. A mid range tablet or chrome laptop will do just fine.
@pauldr57502 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'd agree, for the most part. The Tab S8 Plus has been a mixed experience for me. It pretty annoying that that phones released in back in January 2021 are offered the 120Hz option by GFN, but devices with WiFi 6 and superior hardware are limited to 60Hz. I guess tablet gaming is still a niche market, especially the 12"+ premium models. I certainly wouldn't recommend buying any of the S8 tabs purely for the gaming, but I don't know why anyone would when you could get a pretty decent gaming laptop for similar prices. But with it's AMOLED display, Dolby Atmos audio and perhaps most importantly, WifFi 6 (luckily my router supports it as well) the cloud gaming services I've used (Xbox Ultimate Game Pass and the GFN priority plan) have been extremely positive experiences. If you're a mouse and keyboard guy like me (and already an owner of a large library of Steam and Ubisoft games), GFN is definitely the way to go. But try it for free first.
@sonofodin55142 жыл бұрын
@@pauldr5750 I have a vast steam library and always played mouse and keyboard. Pleased I kept hold of my gaming laptop as I play a lot of call of duty which is not on GFN obviously. I've tried a couple of cloud gaming services in hopes I could replace my gaming laptop with the tab S8 but way too much lag so think I'll be doing away with my tab S8 Ultra... Just seems a complete waste of my money just for gaming!
@pauldr57502 жыл бұрын
@@sonofodin5514 Damn, wish I could afford both (tablet and gaming laptop), but I'm saving for a new desktop gaming PC build at the moment now that GPUs are slowly beginning to drop in price. Have to say I'm disappointed to hear that you found the lag way too much. Do you mind if I ask what sort of connection you have and if you were near any of GFN servers? But, regardless, it's a physical impossibility to ever realistically compare playing a twitch fps shooter on a pc game installed locally to a streaming experience. It'll be an option I'd try out if Nvidia get round to introducing 120Hz and 1440p support for the tab S8s before I've built my gaming pc. I don't see either happening anytime soon, but I'm still pretty sure I'll be playing on my new desktop before GFN offers those options...
@sonofodin55142 жыл бұрын
@@pauldr5750 I was looking at selling my gaming laptop if I could manage gaming on a tab s8 but not going to happen. I've tried boosteroid but too much lag and that doesn't support keyboard and mouse. I also tried Shadow tech but the lag for call of duty cold war was just too bad even though I'm on a 500mb connection. If GFN had call of duty then maybe that would be ok for me as their cloud gaming runs great.
@pauldr57502 жыл бұрын
@@sonofodin5514 Oh, I thought you experienced lag issues with GFN, good to hear that you didn't. GFN fell out with a lot of studios (most famously Activision, losing the whole COD franchise) when they went from the free beta version to the paid version, apparently not informing the various studios. Lucky you held on to your gaming laptop!

1440p with 120 fps is just not doable at this point. You'd have to have probably 200 300 mbps connection plus the 120 fps will make latency a lot more noticeable. 1080p 60fps is good enough if you do not own gaming laptop.
