Kiyua Hiawog There's a lot of trivia that you can just use logic on without knowing the right answer! Process of elimination especially- the whole 'New World People' question for instance. If you know even just a bit about languages, you can guess pretty accurately for questions that have names and places. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, instinct is your friend with trivia. There's a lot of trivia out there that most people have heard at some point or other, and while you might not actively remember the right answer, you might subconsciously know it. Dan and Arin did this a lot, like with the Mother Teresa and Calcutta question. Arin actually would have probably done better if he trusted his instincts more (like the Frankenstein question)!

@Kibate Wooo, am back! Actually, I just built a 750€ PC that will last me another 8+ years (it's upgrade-able at least once, too). I was a huge fan of all the consoles up to the PS3 era - I still have my N64, PS/PS2, Gamecube, XBox and Dreamcast (talk about money well spent - who needs food, ahem...), and I've spent countless nights with my friends and loads of chips and beer....ah, awesome times. After that, it just didn't feel right anymore. Consoles kinda stagnated hardware-wise, updates became less significant, yet they still didn't get cheaper. Technological progress shrank, instead bling-bling and status took over (the same thing with PC hardware - I still am pissed at AMD for apparently holding back good ideas back then, while Intel's tick-tock model meant ultra slow updates and milking of obsolete hardware-designs. Also, did anyone notice modular/x86 smartphones and alternative OS dying?). In console-world, the whole "exclusive title/AddOn" and vendor lock-in thing just pissed me off entirely and I stopped thinking about it. The Switch actually is the first console I've considered buying 'till then.

Yep. 1 does not equal 0.9 repeating. 0.9 repeating is incredibly close to 1. You could round up in math equations and it wouldn't really change much. But it's not 1.
@Giblet124 жыл бұрын
mjc0961 0.9 is so immeasurably close to 1 that it does zero harm in just saying .999 repeating is one.
@indygon4 жыл бұрын
@@mjc0961 It is 1, actually. If you stop the sequence, it's not 1, but the "..." means you don't stop the sequence. There is no last digit in 0.9 repeating, so it's equal to 1. There are a lot of videos on KZbin that go over why that is and like a million other articles online because this is a very common misconception; personally I like defining it as a limit. If you haven't studied those, limits let you (among other things) talk about how something "infinite" behaves. For example, you can't just take the function 1/x and plug in infinity because infinity isn't actually a number, but with a limit you can say "Well, as x *approaches* infinity, 1/x approaches 0." You can define 0.9 repeating as an infinite sum (0.9 + 0.09 + 0.009 + ...). As you add more terms, this sum gets closer and closer to 1, and at infinity (when the sum is "fully added"), it equals 1. It might seem weird to say something happens "at infinity" when you can't actually get there, but it's totally valid. You can also show this algebraically (1/9 = 0.111..., multiply both sides by 9 to get 9/9 = 0.999... = 1) but I think some people see that as more of a trick than a proof. The limit thing might seem that way too if you haven't studied them (which I recommend if you're curious because they're pretty cool and useful)
@TrappedinaBrain4 жыл бұрын
Two real numbers are different only if there is a real number separating them. What real number separates 0.9 repeating and 1? The only possible answer would be a number like 0.000...1, with infinite 0's before the 1. That's not a real number though, so there isn't any difference between 0.99.... and 1

So, it helps to pick the subject you know best, if at all possible. Please do more of this game! I love it and wanna see more! Also, it takes a minimum of 2 games to play all the different game types as Close Call and Grab Bag games have normal and blitz styles. Switchagories, the Start and End rounds don't have alternate versions. PS- I know Achievement Hunter has an on-again-off-again series of the same game, but, I've seen all of those, and Arin and Dan have a different dynamic, gives a different feel.

As a huge fan of TMBG, I appreciate the reference to their song about Istanbul. I was wondering how far they'd take it and was not disappointed

Probably something like "drugs" "cocaine" or "heroin" because those are all words that would get flagged for demonetization

Oh man the ambient knowledge thing for trivia is real. When the question about organ weight came up my brain immediately rattled of "Skin, liver, brain, lungs, heart." Why do I know this? At what point in my education did I learn this?
