Leo for host 2020!!! He seems like a natural replacement for Ben. They had a great relationship on set and bounced off of each other very well. Leo brings a similar sense of humor while still being his own person. He also seems to be very interested in the seemingly innocuous things to a degree like Ben was. The shout-out to the level building tools shown in the FF15 month of coverage is pretty of that.

C'mon, you guys didn't mention PERSONA 5 for 2017. Maybe the best JRPG, and one of the best RPGs period of the decade. Or Hollow Knight, maybe the best Metroidvania of this century, not just decade. And Death Stranding was by far the most innovative big budget game of the year. I liked Control and RE 2 Remake, but they both play exactly like games before. In fact Control feels like a Combination of Alan Wake and Quantum Break. I really liked Outer Worlds too, but the ending was kind of a letdown. But I don't think any of those games innovate, nor has an as consistent gameplay loop as Death Stranding.

@Fanne Aeris Not if it feels like the previous games. And I really liked Control, it's combat is the most open, fun, and purposefully experimental combat I played this year. (DMC V has great combat, but you can button mash and survive, doing the cool combos is only for trying to get high ranks, but doesn't cause you to change and experiment how you choose to clear a room, the way Control does, and Sekiro isn't experimental at all, it wants you to parry attacks 80 percent of the time.) But Control basically had the spooky, is this reality, what's really going on vibes from Alan Wake, and the Powers (excluding levitation) from Quantum break. I can appreciate the touches they added to differentiate Control, but if you've played those two previous games, you can still feel them there, though control sans it's technical issues is a better game than both. And Control also had the best gameplay moment of the year with the Ashtray Maze.

Nobody ever seems to get it right when it comes to 2014. It's true it was a weaker year overall, but Mario Kart 8 and Shovel Knight were not even mentioned, and they are better than anything that was brought up.

Zachary Czech yea, by the time it came to PS4 a couple months later, online was available. Heists still weren't tho. That came way later into the game's life. And it's only became more and more of a grind ever since with prices on things going up to the point that unless you have a good 50mil stockpiled, it's not worth playing besides just for some fun with friends.

What genre is that? Action/adventure, that's been out since the NES? No, they didn't. All they did was make really niche and hard games that aren't very good and the only reason people play them is so they can act like tough guys and say they "beat a Souls game". It's nothing new and it's the reason it took a VERY down year for those games to even win anything. Also it's not just my friends, most of the GI, IGN and all of the Kinda Funny game reviewers don't like those games at all. I would say more people dislike those games than actually like them.

My favorite game this decade was Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, which came out in 2012. It doubles as my favorite game of all time. 2011 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D came out, and it's the BEST game I played this decade. 2013 was the year when I FINALLY began playing Nintendo games. I hate that u guys glossed over Fallout 4. It's still a great open world game, despite the bugs Bethesda is known for, especially now. It's a good game with a cool storyline. The upgrade in shooting compared to NV and FO3 is huge. While u can't determine ur back story, it is still a great game. FO3 didn't let u determine ur back story either (neither did NV), but people look at those games as inferior. Why is FO4 considered inferior?

The Quests in F4 were REALLY bad, also the dialogue system sucked. Shooting and locations were all improved (i personally also loved the building) but in the end most of the old Fallout fans don't care for that part of the game that much. What's important is the roleplaying experience which was really shallow in F4.

It really isn't, unless you count layering on as much "realism" and "simulation" as possible as an improvement. The original was more fun to play. RDR2 is a great technical achievement and the story's fine and all, but the gameplay is an absolute slog.

It's mechanically better, has a better story, has tighter shooting mechanics, a better open world, much more memorable missions and better interactivity. You might be able to cop the slower pace but many people can and that's not at the fault of the game, more of the player.
